The Griz have endured long stretches of ineffective offensive play in losing 12 of the past 13 games. Whether it’s been lack of ball movement, poor shot selection or turnovers in bunches, the Griz aim to limit those self-induced scoring droughts in order to end a four-game losing streak today when they meet the Detroit Pistons in an afternoon matinee.

“We just have to continue to work on execution,” Griz coach Lionel Hollins said.

With youth often comes a lack of patience and focus.

Rookie center Marc Gasol has delivered arguably his most productive and consistent offense over the past few weeks. But he acknowledges that hard-heads tend to make the Griz easy to defend.

“We struggle on offense when we’re not moving the ball like coach tells us to,” Gasol said. “When we don’t move it from side to side and it gets stuck, we get poor shots and no penetration. We get into trouble.”
