<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Grizzlies finalized a deal Monday with sharpshooter Casey Jacobsen, a guard who last played in the NBA during the 2004-05 season when he split time with Phoenix and New Orleans. An NBA source confirmed that Jacobsen was in town Monday to sign the contract and visit with Griz personnel. Jacobsen signed a one-year contract. Jacobsen, 26, adds perimeter scoring the Griz sought to bolster their guard rotation. He came out of Stanford in 2002 and played 21/2 seasons with the Suns before being traded to the Hornets. Jacobsen played in 78 games, making 13 starts with Phoenix during the 2003-04 season, where he averaged six points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 41.7 percent from 3-point range. During his three seasons, Jacobsen was a career 37 percent shooter from the 3-point line, averaging 5.9 points a game. With the addition of Jacobsen, the Grizzlies' roster includes 13 players, the maximum number general manager Chris Wallace has said the team would start the season with. </div> Source: Commercial Appeal This means that the Grizzlies will no longer go after free agent forward Ime Udoka and have finalized their roster for the start of the 2007-08 season. Like I said in another thread on the topic, I'm very worried about our lack of depth on the wing. Let's say that either Miller or Gay goes down, then do we give 48 minutes a game to Kinsey or Jacobsen? It's not smart to only have four players collectively between the two wing positions. Here's their finalized depth chart though - PG - Kyle Lowry / Mike Conley, Jr. / Damon Stoudamire SG - Mike Miller / Tarence Kinsey SF - Rudy Gay / Casey Jacobsen PF - Darko Milicic / Hakim Warrick / Andre Brown / Brian Cardinal C - Pau Gasol / Stromile Swift
