Anyone see what happened to Battier? That was some nasty stuff. I don't think I've ever seen an athlete bleed so much, so quick.

That's an area that's really prone to bleeding though, so the injury was exaggerrated because of that (don't get me wrong; it still probably hurt like crazy). The bizarre thing was that they made him shoot the free-throws before he could get the cut tended to. He's a really tough player though, and tonight he's back taking on LeBron James. This is why I love Battier; nothing stops him, and he really sacrifices his body for the team night in and night out. That's a large part of what makes him one of the NBA's elite defenders. Aside from Battier's injury, I was happy to see Eddie Jones have a really nice game, but I think it had a lot to do with his mom being in attendance. If he can consistently play like he did last night, then I'll be very happy, but his preseason and his first game left a lot to be desired. It's good to see the Grizzlies finally get a win. I'm starting to think that playoffs are a realistic hope. If they can play like they did last night all season long, then there's no doubt in my mind that they'll make it, but their first game was so horrible that it's leaving me with a lot of doubt.
