I was looking at Grossman's situational stats - they are very telling...here are just a few:

    QB Rating - 4th Quarter: 36.5
    QB Rating - 4th Quarter within 7: 25.7
    2nd Half QB Rating: 60.9
    Ahead by 1 - 8 Points: 68.1
    Behind by 1 - 8 Points: 36.6
Passer Rating on attempts 31+: 35.1

And this is why the Bears will not win the super bowl - they are one dimensional. Grossman cannot play when he is losing or if the game is close. Sure, the defense is incredible, but its very hard to win with defense alone.

Maybe the Bears should call Trent Dilfer? I heard he has experience in leading teams with great defenses to super bowl wins.

If I were a Bears fan, I'd be calling for Brian Griese.

Grossman hasnt played well of late, but some of those stats are meaningless...for instance: QB rating after 30 attempts....most QBs are going to have bad numbers after 30 atts because if they are trowing that much, they are desperately behind....the only one of those stats that would worry me is 36 when behind by 1-8....thats the one that shows he ahs stuggled bringing them back, but if they dont fall behind in the playoff(and they could go right through without trailing), then it wont matter....

    RG's QBR yesterday was 1.3.

Funny you should mention Dilfer, VF. Some expert said that like the Ravens w/ Dilfer, The Bears w/ Rex would win the Super Bowl.

got to take some lumps with a young QB. Let him play and the inconsistency will go away. He is 10-2 right now and this is ideal situation to get him playing time. We are in playoffs. Only need to beat a couple bad teams for home field.

Cant blame Vick. He sees all those cops on sideline and just runs by instinct [IMG]

What does that say about Grossman?

It would be a good point but Vick isnt > Grossman....Vick isnt even the best QB on his own team....Vick is the ultimate NFL WMD....hes just as likely to blow up his team as yours....he should take a note from Vince Young, who after a half dozen starts, already understands that you cant win in this league unless you play QB from the pocket first....

    QUESTION:
What do these 2 guys have in common?

    and

    ANSWER:
Both are good coaches who got VICKtimized out of thier jobs....

I said from the beginning of the year that with Griese behind center Chicago would be a much better team... Grossman is the reason why the Bears won't win the SB this year... Lovie better not be too stubborn over this...

Vick currently has a better TD/INT ratio then Grossman. He has fewer fumbles as well. He also has a better QB rating by .2

He also has more total yards than Grossman.

Grossman is having trouble holding off a RB in the passing department. Says a lot about his play this year.

Not really concerned. He just is going through a bit of a struggle. All part of the learning curve, FYI vick has started about 30 more games than grossman, he actually did better at beginning when reeves was coach however, then mora came and he has gone downhill. Now he will get mora fired.

I actually think the Bears are going to the Super Bowl even with Grossman considering the NFC is so weak this year. I'm just not sure if they can beat the elite of the AFC with him at QB. A team like Indy, San Diego, and Baltimore would really give him trouble especially with pressure. New England also already beat them.

I think the bears would utterly anihalate Indy, their defense is so pathetic this year, its almost as bad as the Packers! and that is bad! lol Baltimore vs Chicago would be a good match up, neither of them have much of a passing game and both have amazing Defense. That'd be a slobbernocker!
