British/Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves thinks fellow Hayemaker Promotions stablemate WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) has been looking spectacular in his sparring sessions to get ready for his July 2nd bout against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s). Groves says that Haye has even hurt some of the guys that he’s been sparring with. However, Groves doesn’t say who these sparring partners are and doesn’t mention what they did against Haye or if they were taking it easy on Haye in order to play the part of the sparring partner. As boxing fans know, sparring partners aren’t supposed to go off on the fighters that they’re hired to spar with. It’s kind of like a big taboo to try and KO your employer, know what I mean? When sparring partners do try and knockout the guys they’ve been hired to spar with, they’re often kicked out of camp.
