The John Salmons incident after Wednesday night's loss at Minnesota merely reflected the growing frustration inside the Kings' locker room, in part because of the team's slow start but also because of Reggie Theus' style.

According to numerous sources close to the team, Salmons took Theus' criticism of the team personally, and a personal challenge of sorts from Theus led to Salmons' early exit from the locker room before the coach was done addressing his team.

"As soon as I heard the news, I wasn't jumping for joy or was happy about it," Salmons said. "It took awhile for me to get my head clear. Maybe last game I wasn't all the way in it. ... I'm going to get over it, to continue to go out there and play basketball and help the team win." -- Sacramento Bee

[*]Theus digs in and refuses to wear gloves.

Yet the question already being murmured is whether the dynamic rookie coach will prevail in his game of wills with his players, or, as is more often the case, implode, and be sent shopping for another job. Eight games into the season, signs of protest are increasingly seen and heard. -- Sacramento Bee

I still don't understand why they aren't rebuilding.

I say fire Petrie and trade away Bibby, Miller and Artest and build around Kmart.
