Except for Drew Gooden. When Boozer left the Cavs for the money in Utah, he left a key spot free on the Cavs roster. When the Cavs acquired Gooden and Donyell Marshall, it became clear that they were the two to fill that gap. Since then, with a kind of 'rough-Boozer' look about him, Gooden has taken that spot for himself, and will tonight come facee-to-face with his predecessor. Gooden is one of very few players who has a shot at grabbing rebounds against Boozer, and he will need to keep Boozer off the glass to allow the Cavs to win tonight.

Keys to the Game

[*]Outrebound the Cavs - The Cavs base a lot of their game on their ability to cut out second-chance opportunities for their opponents, and gain some of their own. If you take those advantages away from them, they will invariably struggle. And when they struggle, they are very beatable. [*]Contain LeBron- The Jazz have only beaten the Cavaliers twice since 2003. These two occasions are the only times they have managed to keep him to under 24 points. The key thing jumping out of that statistic, is when LeBron scores a lot, the Cavs win. When he doesn't, they don't. [*]Playa fast-paced game- When the Cavs are forced to play a fast game of basketball, they quickly become flustered, especially in their transition defense, when Drew Gooden is often caught out. If the Jazz can keep the pace up, they should be able to win the ballgame.
[*]Keep the pace of the game down- At this early point of the season, the Jazz are the team averaging the most points per game (113.5). If the Jazz manage to score that number of points, the Cavs are very unlikely to be able to beat them. If, however, they can stop the Jazz from playing their fast-paced basketball, they should be able to end the night victorious. [*]Rebound hard- The Cavs' main strength is to outrebound their opposition. When they do, they often win as they have more opportunities to score than their opponents. It is their drive and determination that often gets them these rebounds, and they must keep that up tonight. [*]Make Free-Throws- A tactic often used by the opposition against the Cavs is to have a liberal attitude towards fouling them. This means that the Cavs can spend a lot of time at the Free Throw line. Unfortunately, they are often poor, sub-70% Free Throw shooters, and this tactic is often advantageous to the opponents.
The Cavs since 2003 v Utah

The two teams have met 6 times. The Cavs have won 6, averaging 95.5 PPG, and the Jazz have won just 2, averaging 10 PPG less. LeBron James averages 28.6 points (including that monster 51-point game), 7.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists against the Jazz. With numbers like these, it is not difficult to see why the Jazz have lost so many of the game. If he can keep it up again tonight, the Jazz will find the game tricky.

Prediction

After winning last night in Golden State, the Cavs will be brimming with confidence going into tonight's game. However, wit hthe possibility of Larry Hughes still being MIA, pressure will be put on Daniel Gibson to come up big once more. With Ilgauskas' steady start to the season, combined with LeBron's fantastic record against Utah, I can really see the Cavs winning tonight.
92 - 98

Play Nichols!
Great looking table, chingy. I'll be rooting for the Cavs tonight, I hope they pull off a win.
Think we'll be seeing more minutes for Damon Jones?

Jazz are a legit powerhouse and are going to be tough for Cleveland to deal with in Utah. The Jazz have no problem playing a slowed down ugly style game and walking away with a victory. Deron Williams is playing All-Star caliber basketball right now and Boozer will bring his A-game against his former team. Cavs are without Larry Hughes (again) which hurts their already thin bench and the team seems to live and die with Boobie's jumpshot.

I really don't know if we'll be seeing more minutes for Jones. We probably will tonight if Hughes can't play at all, and if he shoots well we could see more of him in the future.
Shape, I know the Jazz are accomplished at playing a slow-paced game, but it's not their natural style if you know what I mean. That style would suit the Cavs better than it would suit the Jazz; and both teams know it.
