So far the Heat are limiting the Mavs to one and done, and have taken the lead with some efficient offense.
Dirk Nowitzki got popped in the mouth with a Shaq elbow and has been off 1-5 so far. Jason Terry is carrying the offensive load for the Mavs so far with 8 points. Heat are shooting 73% from the field so far, Mavs need to step up their defense.
The Mavericks haven’t shown me anything so far defensively. The Heat throw up 31 points on them in the first quarter. Wade has gotten to the basket at will. If the Heat keep this up they will win tonight’s game by a good margin. Up by eight at the end of the first quarter.
Bonehead play by Nowitzki leads to an Antoine Walker 3 to end the quarter. Heat lead by 8 after 1 quarter, they've dominated the tempo of this game and are scoring anytime they want finishing with a combined 70% from the field. The key scorers for Dallas are struggling early ... Dirk 1-5 Howard 1-6 Stackhouse 1-4 Also Diop and Dampier have two fouls each.
That was a great shot by Walker to end the half. I wish Dampier wouldn't have hacked Wade on that last play because he would have posterized Dampier really bad. Overall great first quarter for the Heat, hopefully they can keep it up and get a win.
So much for Dampier and Diop being able to team up and stop Shaq. They won't be able to if they keep fouling like they are. The Heat are scoring, and they are doing it easily on easy buckets.

Whoa, Stackhouse ran into Shaq and got rocked. Dallas is starting to take momentum, but they are still down by 6. Dirk has to step up in the 2nd half he's only 1-7 so far and only 5 rebounds.
Sick buzzer beating shot by Dirk. The Mavs ended the first half with a 10-0 run which gives them a lot of momentum going into the second half. This is going to be a great series. Oh, and did you guys see the thing about Jason Terry? I guess he always sleeps in the opponent's game shorts the night before every game but he couldn't wear Heat shorts because Gary Payton didn't get him a pair like he said he would. So Terry slept in Mavs shorts and obviously it's working! Terry is making a huge impact in this game and without him, I think Dallas would be struggling.
Dallas is back, Dirk with a buzzer beater to end the 2nd quarter. Dallas has a 2 point lead 46-44 at the half. Jason Terry has been the man so far for the Mavs, he already has 20 points. Wade has cooled off from his hot start and ended up shooting 6/11 to finish the half. Dampier is the only player in foul trouble with 3. Miami's field goal percentage dropped to 48.7% to end the half, and they only managed to score 13 points in the 2nd quarter. Can't wait for the 2nd half, still anyone's game.
Miami had a terrible second quarter. Props to Dallas though they came back from 11. Someone has to play defense on Jason Terry, he has 20 in the first half. We did a great job on Dirk except for that last shot. Shaq needs to get more involved.
Wow this is a great offensive showcase by all the superstar players. Dirk has come out gunning and Wade is relentless at attacking the rim. I think Miami has to be careful here, Dallas is starting to turn this game into a track meet.
Dallas is starting to turn this into a running game and Shaq won't be able to keep up. Dirk was killing it with the threes.
Dirk's success this quarter is because of Haslem's foul trouble. Udonis did a fantastic job on him. Miami is coming back. Antoine Walker needs to make better decesions, however he was fouled on that missed layup.
I wish i could watch them game instead of following this game cast thing on nba.com. I can't believe the heat let the mavs come back. Mavs only up by 1 at this stage. Lets hope dwade takes over in the fourth and the heat come through.
Damn Wade again with the explosive step. Devin Harris needs to stop reaching and giving him that lane.
