I am absolutely mind blown by Trent getting benched last night. To me, this may be the worst coaching decision Stotts has ever made. The guy is a fucking dog on defense and absolutely one of the best shooters on the team. To not be playing him over ANY of the other guys off the bench is truly puzzling. The only respectable reason I can think of benching him would be that there is a strong likelihood that the harden trade is close abd there is a 3rd team involved that asked us not to play him during the game. Otherwise, this is Stotts worst decision as a head coach in Portland.
Maybe stotts is seeing something that the fans don’t. Maybe he feels Gary isn’t focused, isn’t practicing well or putting in the effort etc.. I mean we got blown out game after game, maybe Stotts was sending a message.
Well from my eye, hood is clearly bot the same player and is not ready. This is just one example of who he should be getting plying time over. It’s not even close
Hey, we sucked for three games prior when Trent was playing and we won this one. Don't knock it if it works. You don't know what he's done behind the scenes. (Besides, Trent was only good in the early days of the bubble and has sucked before and since.)
Do I even have to bring up Melo? We know the situation there but still. And simons? Give me a fucking break. You could bench 90% of the team if that’s the case...the whole team is playing terribly. To bench one of our best players is a joke

i understand that. Talent wise yes he should be playing over hood, which is why I think something is happening behind the scenes. did you see him pouting on the bench while we got our first win of the season?
He’s a bench player, minutes won’t always be consistent. The defense locked up in the second half and CJ was on fire so he played basically the whole game. I wouldn’t worry about it.
It's one fucking half. Trent needs to get over it....and so do the fans. Obviously, he is relying on a big season in order to get paid and if he was benched all year I would understand him being pissed. But the team is deep. There will be a lot of players who want to play, that won't. You can't play 10-12 players. I am sure Terry will alternate lineups in the early season like he often does. Trent will have time to earn his minutes.
Smfh? First game against Utah. A top western conference team. Dame and CJ combined for 31 pts. second game vs harden and a G league squad. Dame and CJ combine for 76 pts and we win in OT. there are a lot of things wrong with this team and Trent is not one of them I rest my case
