A room full of Hollywood writers couldn't have come up with a better plot line than what will play out over the next three weeks as the Hawks try to find a starting point guard.

There's the high-priced veteran returning from an injury-plagued season who's aiming to reclaim his job: Speedy Claxton.

And the charismatic and reliable backup who always seems to make clutch plays when healthy: Tyronn Lue.

Then there's the hotshot rookie with the young legs and the turbo-charged skills: Acie Law IV.

Don't forget the rugged journeyman who always seems to save a team in need: Anthony Johnson.

And lest we forget the wild card, and oft-times wild child, whose skills suit the Hawks' preferred style of play: Salim Stoudamire.

That's five players for one job.

The big question is, Who's the man?

I think the starting position is Speedy's to lose.

Well, speedy is a ok PG, but I think it is Law's to win. He is young, and fast and is the future PG of this franchise. I would really like him to start. Speedy is injured, but I still think he can play.

Speedy or JohnSon should start off, and eventaully later in the season, it should be Law's job.

Got nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing Law from the start. If he pans out, they're a playoff team.

Not in this day. He is not good enough or have enough to his game to get MIP.

Actually, I think that the risk/reward might actually be higher with Speedy if he can stay healthy (big if).

I'm not a huge supporter of Acie Law. It was probably the right pick at the time, but I don't know how he'll do in the NBA or if he's even starter quality. In college, he played a similar role that Salim Stoudamire played. It could be that he's capable of playing point guard and he was just asked to score to help his team, or it could be he's a shooter-only and not effective at point guard.

I don't know. Speedy was dreadful last season, but I think if he gets healed right he can help the team more than he can hurt.

i know. realistically, I could see speedy starting and putting in good minutes, and Acie eventually taking over the starting PG spot.

Will AJ have a big role with the Hawks next season? How was he last season?

Johnson is older now. We are forgetting about Tyronn Lue. He is a very serviceable back-up and he also gives us trade bait. I can see a possible Anthony Johnson waiver, then a Tyronn Lue trade for picks.

I don't think Tyronn will be all that big for the Hawks.

I have a feeling he'll get traded, too. I don't see his use for the Hawks, but another team could use him.

He is a okay PG. He can play the game and make shots. A team like Boston or the Cavs could use him. On the Hawks, he is not needed. I mean, if he does stay, I'm sure he'll play 10-15 minutes per, with 5 points and 4 assists.

Tyronn Lue is an excellent back-up point guard. I think that gets lost because he plays in Atlanta, and is remembered by most for being stepped on by Allen Iverson in the finals.

I think we should use A.j, he was very sevicable last season, and with acie being so young it can make up, for his inconsistentsy.

Salim could do well, if he just added more to his game. He is just a shooter, and he needs more. He dribbling is ok, but not good enough for a PG. He can't make plays for his teammates and he is just to 1 dimensional.

Salim's dribbling is not okay. lol

Whenenever he tries to dribble a lot a turnover results. He would see more minutes if he could just take better care of the ball.

Funny thing is, he says he is more effective with the ball in his hands. Well, he better be a better dribbler for that to happen. I think if Woodson just ran some catch and shoot plays for Salim, he could be way more useful, then trying to get him to make plays for other guys.

He is not a play maker, nor is he that good at creating space for his own shot. Most defenders just play his shot, and don't bother respecting the other parts of his game, because there are none. He better start adding more or he will be traded or released.

The thing is he almost doesn't need to dribble. lol

His range goes so far it's ridiculous.

I know. He just needs to get some drive and kicks, screens and catch and shoot plays. He will be one of the most dangerous shooters in the league if he can get those plays.
