Blocks and steals does not a good defensive player make, but I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere: 1 Derrick Rose, PG CHI 0.69 bpg (29 total) 2 Tyreke Evans, PG SAC 0.50 (18 total) 3 Eric Bledsoe, PG LAC 0.45 (19 total) 4 Russell Westbrook, PG OKC 0.43 (18 total) It's not even really all that close. If you look at all guards he's third: 1 Dwyane Wade, SG MIA 1.10 (45 total) 2 Francisco Garcia, SG SAC 0.91 (32 total) Rose is averaging two blocks a game over the last five games. Anybody want to put down odds on him passing Wade before the season is over? (Also, should we reflect on how strong Wade's season has been, despite the miles on his tires?)
Ummm ok I am guessing....aaaaaaa, I know who it is, but can't think of his name! Seriously can anyone think of any guard in the modern era that blocks jump shooters the way Rose does? I am not talking about a SG that is 6-9. Referring to a smaller SG. I can't think of anyone else.
My numbers were wrong. Rose has 32 (.76 per game) counting the game against the Cavs. I think he catches Wade before the season is done.
