This is easy. There are approx 21 QB's with more total passing yards (several with higher comp rating) than Luck. Just a few with more yards: Foles, Dysert, Barkley, Osweiler, Davis, and Mannion. Over 1500 passing yards separate Luck from #1 spot. Six QB's who have more passing yards than Luck, have same/less INT's on the season. Five have same/more TD's.
I feel this is Stanford's first test of the season. USC is a good team and should have beat Stanford - if not for a terrible play call and a lost opportunity to kick a FG win win (USC). Let's talk about how good Luck is after this game. He's good. Great. Sure. Elite and unbeatable? No way.
I really wouldn't mind the Niners going after Foles. I know Luck gets all the hype, but Foles would be awesome in the west coast offense.
I definitely feel he is elite, wouldn't be this hyped for next year's draft if he wasn't. That being said our defense played a great game and if they're good enough to fluster the best QB in college and perhaps the best offensive line then the rest of the country better look out. Great victory and Go Ducks!
Here's to another Duck Victory, 19 conference wins in a row and hopefully making it 20 in a row. Oh, and don't want to jinx it but can you say possible 3 straight Pac-12 champions!
Stanford players a run-oriented ball control offense. Harbaugh brought it to the 49ers, and they are 7-1, but Alex Smith has thrown for under 200 yards in 5 of the 8 games, and two the 200+ yard games were for 200 and 201 yards.
You stole my thoughts. Stanford runs to set up the pass. It's little wonder he doesn't lead the nation in passing yards.
Niners are winning games with their defense and Frank Gore has been a beast. Smith is playing Dilfer type football right now. Its good enough. I think they'll lose this weekend, though.
Their passing attack needs some work, but QBs in Harbaugh's system don't put up big numbers. I think they'll beat the Giants.
