The Jazz's trade with Phoenix last Thursday was purely a financial transaction, a swap so motivated by expiring contracts, draft picks and luxury taxes that it might as well have been put together by H&R Block. Funny thing about the Jazz's end of the deal, though, that $11.6 million contract that the Suns were so desperate to unload: It showed up at practice Monday, in uniform. A living, breathing basketball player eager to prove he's a lot more than an expensive payroll entry. "I know why they made the trade," forward Tom Gugliotta said before his first Jazz workout, "but I can still play." http://www.sltrib.com/2004/Feb/02242004/sports/141959.asp
Hey Gugs hit a 3 tonight! Must of been a lucky shot lol I am hoping he can resurrect his career in Utah
Gugliotta can play. It's kind of sad, he used to be All-Star material, but injuries have plagued him. Kind of like Grant Hill, only a shell of what was.
That 3 point shot is nothing new to Googs, in his younger days he put up quite a few. I can't see Googs getting back to what he was, he's had too many injuries and is getting older, but he is able to put up good numbers off the bench and possibly start over Michael Ruffin since Ruffin is one of the worst starters in the NBA.
But he can rebound, which is the only reason Jerry Sloan keeps him there. I would of preferred Jarron Collins to start over him, not Greg Ostertag.
