Ernests Gulbis won his first match in two months, while the hottest player on the ATP Tour withdrew from the Farmers Classic tennis tournament at UCLA on Monday. Gulbis beat Lukas Lacko of Slovakia 7-5, 7-5, and he was joined in the second round by Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia, Rainer Schuettler of Germany and Dudi Sela of Israel.
