I just took a route for work out in deep SE off between Foster Rd and Powell. Way out there. I've come across tons of shiesty Roma Gypsies trying to scam UPS by saying they never received their packages. You go to their house to do kind of a quasi investigation and they almost have a staged act of stupidity and ignorance and the whole family gets involved. Its been like 4 or 5 different episodes. At first I wasn't really in tune with what was going on and I talked to a small business owner in the area and he told me, yep those are gypsies. I guess there's a huge population of them in that area. There's even a huge Romanian church out there. Its huge. I asked the old driver on the route and he said, yep tons of gypsies out there. Its a whole different world for me. Then I saw this business that I used to deliver to all the time is ran by a gypsy. http://www.katu.com/news/problemsol...ks-up-complaints-288001071.html?tab=video&c=y I didn't realize there was so many gypsies in Portland. Do you have any gypsy stories?
When my uncle lived here he used to work at a restaurant and they would come in large groups and routinely try to get things for free. A lot of complaining, planting hair in their food, making the staff run around constantly for their table, arguing. It wasn't good.
Before we were married, my wife worked at the Arby's on Halsey off 122nd. She would constantly have large families of gypsies come in and get 1 soda and 5 cups of water, then dump out the water and try to get soda refills (the fountain was behind the counter). She would make a point of very visibly marking the water cups so they wouldn't be able to bring them up for soda refills. They would then just dump the soda into the water cup and then get the soda cup refilled a bunch of times. They would also routinely eat 1/2 to 3/4 of an item, then complain of its quality and demand a refund. It got to the point where her store wouldn't serve them anymore. Also, when I was 18 and looking to buy my first car, she and I were looking in the classifieds. Found a listing for a car at a decent price ("great condition! runs perfect"), basically just a couple blocks from where I lived. Called them and set a time for us to come by and take a look at it. As we were walking down the street toward the address, we saw a car approaching from the other direction that appeared to be the make/model we were coming to look at, parking about where I figured the address would be. As the driver and passengers got out, she recognized them as the gypsy family who frequented her Arby's. She told me, "Just keep walking, and don't make eye contact!" As we walked by the now parked car, we could see smoke coming out from under the hood...
If there is one group I avoid it's gypsies. They're absolutely horrible to deal with, same goes for Russians (like straight off the boat type of Russians)
Used to play poker and probably half were gypsies at the game I went to. If I busted out if the tournament early, I almost always made my money back playing the cash or sit n go against them. Horrible players that you just waited for a big hand since they would never come off a hand. Friend had a car lot and said the off the boat Eastern Europes killed him asking that everything be done under the table.
