"I've talked to R.J. I've been with him for seven years. I told him it's part of the business and that if a trade does happen he's got to work on rebounding because I can't spoon feed him anymore." ~ Kidd

Did you read the part where Kidd said RJ laughed? It was a joke man.
If anything the article makes it clear that there are obviously issues between Carter and Kidd...

" That's putting a positive spin on things, but it's worth noting that Kidd barely talked to Vince Carter upon his exit, preferring to call and check on his old teammate Jason Collins in Memphis and long-time teammate Richard Jefferson. Although he'd been particularly close with those two, it was no secret that there was a rift starting to develop between Kidd and Carter towards what was supposed to be the end of their partnership."

    It's a pretty silly take.

If Carter didn't resign, would that had made Kidd happier? Doubt that.

Carter's inconsistent play, I would assume. I think when Carter was traded to NJ, Kidd expected to see the old Toronto Vince, not the new age one.
