Hack-A-Rondo En Vogue

We've heard of "Hack-a-Shaq." Dwight Howard oftentimes gets mauled because of his poor free-throw shooting.

But could it be a point guard is getting the same treatment? Chris Forsberg of ESPNBoston.com thinks so.

Forserg notes that Rajon Rondo entered last night's game against the Bucks shooting only 40.6 from the line (13-of-32). Rondo was able to make 6-of-9 against Milwaukee last night, but with the game tied at 86 with around five minute left, Charlie Bell seemed to intentionally foul Rondo. He made both free throws.

"Tonight was the first time I saw 'Hack-a-Rondo,'" Celtics coach Doc Rivers told ESPNBoston.com. "With five minutes left, that was an intentional foul. And he made them. Thank God, you know? He's driving. Early on [this season], I thought he was driving and avoiding contact. He's driving now. He's getting to the basket.

" ... he's going to get fouled more, that's going to happen. So it's really important, obviously, for your point guard to make the free throws. And he's going to do that. He's starting to now."

Until Rondo proves he can hit free throws at a higher rate, this might be a tactic teams continue to employ against Boston late in close games.
