Michael Wilbon just said on the ESPN halftime show for LA/PHX that Dwight Howard worked with Hakeem this summer, and if you watched the game you saw that Dwight's overall offensive game is MUCH improved. We need Hakeem. I love Buck, but Hakeem would be great for Aldridge and Oden. I don't care what he costs. Get him here Paul!
I prefer to have the guys who worked with McHale and Hakeem on staff... hopefully they bottled their magic and aren't dead STOMP
Kobe worked with Hakeem last summer too. I'd love Hakeem to work with our guys. Hakeem is a top 10 player all time for me. He was incredible.
I completely agree. And, for me, Hakeem was somewhere in the middle of the top-ten, not near the back end. Just an amazing player.

Who needs one of the greatest centers in NBA history when we have Hersey Hawkins and offensive jugernaught Buck Williams working with Greg. It's a shame that Portland doesn't care enough about the kid to get him an obvious willing tutor like Hakeem or Walton to work with him
Only problem is our guys don't have the physical tools to pull that off. You have to have be quick, fluid, and balanced for those types of moves. Now that I think about it, it kind of makes me chuckle trying to imagine Greg or LA attempting "Dream Shakes".
LMA is the only one that is an obvious candidate for Hakeem like treatment - but he still needs to work on his face the basket put the ball on the ground skills to really benefit. At this point, Greg needs to develop basic post move skills before he will really benefit from Hakeem like moves...
I think LMA could easily develop moves like that, but he just needs the desire. The thing is, I didn't see Dwight Howard bust off any dream shakes, but his offensive repertoire was vastly improved. It definitely couldn't hurt.
The sarcasm makes me sad. Not that you are being sarcastic, but that what you are being sarcastic about should be so obvious to the Blazer's management. Some of these guys are saying that LA and Oden aren't agile enough to pull off Hakeem's moves. Well, if they aren't, have Hakeem work with them until they get as close as they can. They won't know until they try. I saw Howard look like a player with offensive skills last night and if that doesn't scare the rest of the league, they aren't paying attention.

Greg is not ready for Hakeem, imho. The guy still needs to master the simpler post moves. There is no point in sending a 3rd grader to college to learn differential equations. Greg is not there.
Man, Howard's offensive game was EXTREMELY limited too though. His game pretty much consisted of dunks.... and dunks.
No, you are so right. Why don't they get Chris Dudley to teach him some basic stuff and then each year get him another coach with a higher level of skill? That way he can learn from 12 different guys over a period of years instead of learning from one of the all time greats one step at a time.
