10:04 long. 88MB. Definitely worth the wait. Honestly I've gotten choked up at least a handful of times watching this video. Hakeem was/is my favorite player ever, and I was lucky enough to grow up learning the game of basketball in a time when there was such an amazing player/person to idolize. I can't tell you how much I miss watching Hakeem work his magic. Makes me want to be a kid again So without further ado, here's the link: Hakeem Olajuwon: The Dream
Just various message boards I've visited. Not really one central place. Let me know what you think of the vid.
Apparently it has been downloaded 25 times (i guess people downloaded it without posting) and it expired. I'll have to upload it again, but that won't be until later...sorry.
Im currently uploading it for those who havent seen it...give me 5-10 minutes...(since the size is huge)
Wow just remarkable..I've never seen him during his early days when he could run the floor and jump so high..this is highly debatable but do u guys think hakeem would woop shaq iif both of them were in their primes? I don't think shaq could run the floor or jump as high as hakeem and hakeem was much quicker. But shaq might overpower him.

Shaq and Hakeem played pretty even (although Hakeem's team swept Shaq's team) in the 1995 Finals when Hakeem was in his prime, and Shaq was entering his. However, Shaq was much lighter and much quicker back then, and I do believe that if he had been at the weight he was in during his prime, Hakeem would have made him look like an idiot. I also think Hakeem was just as dominant as Shaq, but in a more indirect fashion. Hakeem obviously had much more of a finess game, with turnarounds, fakes, jumpers, a crossover, even 3-point range (that he didn't often use). Just look at the stats and you can see that Hakeem basically did everything Shaq did on offense, plus he was the best defensive big man, and perhaps player, in the league...he just didn't visually dominate as much by dunking every play. Also, you don't think Hakeem could have made himself seem more dominant by making comments to the media just as Shaq does today? Hakeem could have promoted himself as the most dominant center in the game and the media probably would have run with it, and in turn, the NBA audience as well. However, Hakeem let his game speak for itself, and couldn't have cared less if people thought he was the most dominant as long as his team was winning. On top of everything, Hakeem rose to the top of the league in an era where there was competition at center almost every night. That said, Shaq is up there on my list of all-time great centers, but he's not above Hakeem.
Great video. Hakeem was truley one of the most dominant centers ever. he thing I liked about him was that he was versitale and could do about anything.
Those clips were from the Hakeem the Dream video put out after the first championship, by the way. Thanks for the link.
