this guy can be a good player fo the grizzlies if hes allowed at least 10 shots a game and 20 min a game, why isnt the coach playin him and giving him reasonable minutes?
Because he's not ready. I think that pretty much sums it up. He relies to much on his otherworldly athleticism and he doesn't have a well developed jump shot. To top it off, he's too small to play the PF and not quick enough to play the SF, so at this point, he's somewhat of an enigma. He's got loads of potential, but needs to develop his game before he becomes a contributor at this level.
Fratello needs to figure out a way to work Warrick into the lineup. There are a lot of new faces on the roster, and right now the priority is getting the veteran players settled in first. Memphis still has the talent to make the playoffs, and the odds are better using the veterans and not the rookies.

When Cardinal comes back, he's going to have an even harder time finding playing time. I do think that his minutes are a little too low though. He was pretty successful in the preseason. Even though the competition level was diluted, it was still very telling. In the Heat game, Lawrence Roberts played more minutes than him. I'm not sure why they drafted him if they're just going to play him 2.5 mpg this season. Ever since Sidney Lowe left, the Grizzlies coaches don't really like playing rookes (ex: Troy Bell, Dahntay Jones, Antonio Burks).

I was shattered with how Czar used him in the Miami game. Sure the kid isn't totally ready, but he's better than playing the last minute of a blowout. Thankfully he was given more of a chance in the last three games, hopefully he continues to work hard and earn those 10-15 minutes a night.

He wasn't a first team All-American for Syracuse last year for nothing; the kid has talent, even if he does rely on his athleticism too much. I just don't see Fratello's logic of playing Lawrence Roberts over him. Tonight it seemed like every time I turned on the t.v. I saw Lawrence Roberts in the game and Hakim Warrick on the bench. Why didn't they just draft Roberts #19?

Roberts gives us something we need desperately, that being some rebounding from the second unit, but i still think Warrick should be playing in front of him.
WARRICK GOT 17 MINUTES TODAY!!!!!!!!! wow finally for the first time he's starting to get some minutes and was 5-10 FG, could have done a little better on the freethrow though, i dont live in memphis so i didnt watch the game, was his shots jump shots? lay ups? dunks?
Hakim came into the game for the first time with 1.08 left in the game. We were 26 up at 3/4 time, and yet left Hakim to rot on the bench. I don't get it.

By now, I'm fine with him playing Gasol a lot of minutes and keeping Warrick stashed on the bench, even in blowouts - just so long as we keep winning games. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The one thing I didn't understand though was why he had starters in the game in the final two or three. At that point, it was obviously over, but he kept Mike Miller in there, and now he injured his knee. Way to go Fratello!
Yeah the substitutions were odd for the Grizzlie at the end of the game. Especially Eddie subbing in and then subbing out again for Mike Miller. I really like Lawrence Roberts, he is an animal in the paint. That windmill rejection from the weakside on Kwame was nasty.

Pau is one of the most unselfish guys in the league so it's not an AI situation of wanting to stuff the stats all game regardless of the score, so i don't see any reason to risk him getting fatigued when the game is well and truly over.

His rebounding is fierce and he works his backside off. The intensity on the boards is something we desperately needed from our second unit, so it's good to have a kid capable of helping out. Now to work on the free throw shooting.
