Hamblen called Tomjanovich and appealed to him Friday, two days after one of the more striking news conferences in Laker history, but Tomjanovich's answer was firm. "I thought he should come back," Hamblen said. "I still held the door open for him. His mind was already made up." Tomjanovich left Saturday for Hawaii with his wife, Sophie, and Laker owner Jerry Buss, a gesture of goodwill from Buss piled on top of the $9 million he agreed to pay Tomjanovich for half a season's worth of coaching and two more seasons of consulting. Hamblen is in trouble, He doesnt know what to do and does a thing like this. We need to move on. Rudy wont be coming back. Just like Phil isnt coming back. Forget about that and focus on the future
There comes a point when we need to move on, now is that point. Phil won't be back, Rudy is done with the NBA IMO. Start looking for a new coach, there are plenty of people out there...college leverl coaches, NBA assistants..just whatever they do, DO NOT HIRE DOUG COLLINS.
