Bundesliga side Hamburg have beaten some big-hitting competitors o the punch by signing Nigerian star Macauley Chrisantus.

In a major coup for the Bundesliga, German side Hamburg have captured the highy coveted 17-year-old, Macauley Chrisantus, who had looked set to join one of the Premier League clubs that were interested in him - Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax, Internazionale and Milan were also said to be monitoring the young striker, who won the Golden Boot at the World Under-17 Championship earlier this year when scoring seven goals in seven games as Nigeria won the junior world crown for the third time.

However, Hamburg have agreed a deal to take Chrisantus from Abuja FC.

“We are delighted that we were able to convince him of our concept,” HSV sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer told the club’s official website.

Chrisantus has agreed an initial amateur contract with Hamburg, and will sign a full professional deal when he turns 18 next August.

"We are very pleased to have his services," said Hamburg's sports director Dietmar Beiersdorfer after Chrisantus trained with the senior squad on Tuesday morning.

Well yeh because if he does turn out amazing then i'd be annoyed if Man Utd Had him. But because he is at Hamburg he it isn't going to have any effect what so ever on Arsenal. Except for Maybe Champions league.
