Recovering Hamlin visits Seahawks practice Click here to find out more!NFL.com wire reportsKIRKLAND, Wash. (Nov. 11, 2005) -- Seattle Seahawks safety Ken Hamlin showed up at the team's practice Nov. 11, still recovering from injuries sustained nearly four weeks prior in a fight outside a Seattle nightclub.Wearing a black sweat shirt and black sweat pants, Hamlin arrived at the Seahawks' indoor practice bubble about halfway through the team's 75-minute practice. Coach Mike Holmgren said Hamlin came to team headquarters on Nov. 8 to see his teammates and Holmgren invited him back."I told him to come on over Friday for lunch and see the guys," Holmgren said. "They like to see him too."Looking healthy and only slightly thinner, Hamlin shook hands, joked with his fellow defensive backs and received a bear hug from defensive tackle Chuck Darby.Hamlin did not speak with the media."He really brightened the whole room up," Darby said. "Even with the situation he's in, he still worries about the team more than himself. Ken is a strong man. He's going to go out there and do whatever it takes to get back."Hamlin was beaten by two still at-large suspects outside a downtown Seattle nightclub early on Oct. 17, hours after his team beat Houston at nearby Qwest Field. He spent three days in intensive care, and six days in all, at Harborview Medical Center with a fractured skull, blood clot near the brain and bruised brain tissue.Hamlin's right wrist was covered by a protective brace on Nov. 11.Seattle Police Department spokeswoman Debra Brown said there have been no updates and the case is still under investigation. On Nov. 2, the Seahawks announced they would pay Hamlin's contract for 2005, even though they are no longer bound to because his season was ended by a non-football injury. Hamlin will be paid the $245,882 remaining on his $380,000 base pay. That announcement came the day after Hamlin was placed on the non-football injury list, ending his season.Hamlin wanted to attend the Nov. 13 game between Seattle and St. Louis, but doctors will not clear him to be there, Holmgren said. As for his return next season, Holmgren said the team is still researching the long-term affects of Hamlin's injuries."Little by little, he's feeling better, but we've got to take it slow," Holmgren said. "Long-term, I don't have an answer. We're researching that and we're going to do the right thing." http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/SEA/9037632
Wow Venom you're really trying to bring this site back up aren't ya (not that it was down or anything.)Anyways, is there any info on when he will return? The guy is an electrifying safety.
Not really trying to bring it back up or anything, but I figured an NFL site is kinda useless without the latest news on it. I believe he was put on IR, so probably next season. But just his presence there might be enough to give that team a spark (not that they really need it).
Well, the Seattle secondary has been stooping after since he lefted. He gave a great deal of run support though. Can't wait until he returns to action.
