The Huntington Hammer routed the Canton Cougars, 67-33, Saturday night to give Michael Owens his first Ultimate Indoor Football League win as head coach.

The Hammer unveiled a new assistant coach and kicker for this game and both responded. Fred Ray, backup quarterback to Martevious Young, took over as the team's offensive coordinator this week. The 67 points are a season high. Huntington's first points came via field goal from new kicker Rob Avrietti for a 3-0 first-quarter lead at the Canton Civic Center. It was the Hammer's first three-pointer this season.

Huntington (5-4) snapped a three-game losing streak and took over third in the league. Eastern Kentucky (4-5) dropped to fourth after a 41-37 loss Friday at Johnstown.
