So the FA and the Rymans League think it's fair to throw AFC Wimbledon out of the FA Trophy and dock them 18 points; just because they made a mistake over a player's registration. Leaving aside how ridiculous it is to require International clearance for a player who is English, had retired from full-time playing and whose last club (Cardiff)actually play in the English League, to destroy a club's whole season for such an error is out of all proportion. Something similar happened to Altricham last season, we all know about Bury's exclusion from this season's FA Cup and no doubt there are other examples. These petty, small-minded, "jobsworth" decisions only serve to bring the football authorities into disrepute. When are they going to do something POSITIVE for grass roots community clubs, instead of acting like bullying Dickensian headmasters who are only interested in Rules, for Rules sake? In what other walk of life would a person or organisation be given the severest possible punishment for simply breaking a rule without any considation of intent or the actual consequences. I hope one of these decision-makers parks with one wheel on a yellow line for two minuts and gets their car towed away.
