That incident against Hurricanes this past Saturday was more serious than first thought. Get well fast, Hank. You are our best.
I'm sure he's still in pain. Can't be fun taking a puck to the neck. Hopefully back in for Nashville after some more rest.
Word from the Rangers is expected this afternoon about Lundqvist’s condition and there is “seemingly lots of concern.” (McKenzie)
The Rangers said Lundqvist is day-to-day with a neck injury. They said they will have more updates when available.
If this is long term,......................................................@(^()%)#_@#@##@^(o&%$)($^%$)&
Maybe wishful thinking, but I have to think Hank will be okay for Saturday or Sunday. He came back in against the Canes. He started Monday against the Panthers. I have to assume they wanted to give him a few days rest just to be double sure, but it would be a big surprise if he was hurt that badly considering he stayed in against the Canes and two days later played against Florida. And on Sunday he tweeted out a photo of the shot saying he is good and thanks for all the well wishes. I have to think this is a let's be extra sure and safe and give him a few days to rest.
BTW...the discussion is now Miller or Stemp, Glass not even in the scratch discussion...comical. Hopefully the trade for a forward comes soon, and I really think they might as well trade Miller for someone under contract past this season, he has no role on this team right now. If not I guess offer a 2nd and Moore or McIlrath and maybe another decent prospect for Vermette.
I read he admitted to having trouble breathing when he stayed in the game. Likely pain and swelling which makes it tough to swallow and breath.
Yeah, I saw that also. Sure that's what it is, which is why I was surprised he played against Florida. It is also why I would be very surprised if this is long term. If he isn't back this weekend for a game then I will be concerned.
When we play against these good, big, deep teams you see how our lack of depth kills us. Glass, Stemp, Fast, Moore all in the lineup is a big issue. The 4th line has almost no shot to score. Fast is not a top 9 player. Even Hayes only has 7 goals. So our bottom 5 forwards have 20 goals combined, and that number is skewed by Stemp's 6 goals, he hasn't scored in 8 games AND has 1 goal in his last 20 games into tonight. And he had 2 goals in his first 3 games, which means 4 goals in his last 37 games into tonight. Simply put we get almost ZERO O from our bottom 6...very frustrating. We talk about size, size, size, but I think it is more about depth, depth, depth. That's our issue.
They should call our 4th line...............ready for it..................... "The Giveaway Line". DEPTH has always been a Ranger problem.........FOR DECADES.
2/4/15 | 11:12PM: Alain Vigneault said that “it’s possible” that Henrik Lundqvist won’t make the trip to Nashville. 10:17PM: Lundqvist has been suffering “intermittent” headaches since Saturday but they are not concussion related. (NY Post) Larry Brooks says that it would be “shocking” to see Lundqvist play either Saturday or Sunday. (NY Post) 8:52PM: Lundqvist has some bruising on his neck and in an area where the doctors thought it would be better for him to rest. It seems like a day to day injury. (Bob McKenzie on NBCSN)
As long as he's going to be fine the weekend off is not a big deal. They're playing a Nashville team Saturday that never loses at home anyway.
