"When reserve cornerback Joselio Hanson practiced with the first-team defense over the weekend during Eagles minicamp, nobody seemed to give it much attention.

Ellis Hobbs, the favorite to start at right cornerback this season, is still coming back from spinal surgery and barely practiced during the camp. Rookie Trevard Lindley wasn't ready to jump in with the starters.

Hanson, who became the most experienced corner on the roster after the offseason trade of veteran Sheldon Brown, was the most logical candidate to fill the void opposite Pro Bowl corner Asante Samuel in practice.

But the sixth-year pro doesn't think he's a patch until Hobbs and Lindley are ready to compete for the job at training camp. Hanson said he's aiming to start in Brown's former spot when the season begins.

"We've got a lot of new guys, a lot of athletic guys and a lot of hungry guys. I can't wait until we get the pads on and we can really see who's who," Hanson said."
