Halloween, loved it as a kid, pay back today by making sure kids get candy and treats when they come to my door. The squeeze and I put out some ghouls, graveyards rope light and other decorative items. Ran across an article that stated a pull away from Halloween is being put in place in some school districts for the following reasons. Halloween activities may alienate/exclude some staffers & students who don't celebrate for personal or religious reasons. Halloween has pagan origins and its connection to All Saints Day is seen as Satanic for some Christians Halloween is also found offensive for some Muslims and Orthodox Jews. It is also considered to have negative impact for those who can't afford costumes. So how will school districts solve this problem, sweep the Holiday under the rug and take it from all. For the minority who may be offended by Halloween fuck you, your solution is simple do not participate and let those who will do so. Getting damn tired of people who are "offended" acting like babies with shit in their diapers and are not happy until they get their way. In the meantime for those of us who love Halloween and participate well God Damn it get out there in your best costume and scare the shit out of everyone.
Halloween in some small towns in Mexico is akin to Thanksgiving combined with Easter. The amount of time and preparation is stunning. Cemetery's become the focal points for large gatherings. Food, Wine and other spirits are abundant as families gather together to pray, party, and sing as a group. Here in So-Cal, kids trick or treating has become a tradition which is dang near non-existent for youngsters. Fewer and fewer young kids come around if at all. Young children have been replaced by rude and reckless teenage hoodlums. For that reason we quit handing out treats. My Grandkids are all in Jersey and Luzzianna. Seems out here, more adults attend Halloween parties, than kids trick or treating. It's no longer safe for kids in the shithole of So-Cal suburbia ... a sad indictment of these uncertaint times... once the Sunsets
The tradition now is the school sponsors trunk or treat where parents see each other and the kids have fun with their friends in a parking lot amongst the Audis and BMW's.
The petition to change the Halloween Date is now at 63000 signatures of the needed 75000 before it can be submitted to Trump.
