Freedom and liberty are birthrights for everyone, and protecting and respecting them, needs to be a priority. On my street we have LGBQT, Russians, Ukrainians, Irish, African Americans, Hispanics, Asians & Caucasians. Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Atheist, Eastern religions etc. We come together often and celebrate our neighborhood community especially on the 4th. Street is closed bbq's out, volleyball net out, all kinds of rug rats/ street dogs running around. Flags are flying and there seems to always be a spirit of happiness, when we come together.
What a brilliant, heartfelt speech! Always good to keep our colonial history in perspective...it wasn't independence day for everyone, that's for sure. We've come a long way since 1776
Too much focus on any negative past can cause some to miss the road ahead. That road ahead should be constant improvement in all ways.
Happy 4th all! And especially to my fellow vets on here if there are any! Wish every day I was still in the Coast Guard!
