Apologies if this is going over old ground, but i really cant see the need for us to sign Owen Hargreaves. Firstly,he was universally derided (apart from in Munich) before the world cup, and after a few decent displays in which he stood out from his entirely under performing team mates, he is seen as the hair apparent to Roy Keane. We already have players of his ilk at the club, i.e o'Shea, fletcher and of course 18.6 million Carrick. Where would he play? Would Carrick, a stand out performer this season imo, drop to the bench? Or Scholes? Doesn't make any sense to me. The reported 20 million price tag would be better spent on a forward or attacking midfielder as a long term replacement for the ginger one.
