And it's about to get better with Atlanta's Al Harrington looming as the top free agent this summer. Chicago could have close to $22 million in cap space to sign Harrington, who has been the object of Isiah Thomas' desires since the Knicks president arrived in New York. Thomas has tried for two years to acquire Harrington, a small forward the Knicks covet. But the Knicks' best and perhaps only chance to acquire Harrington will have to be in a trade before the February deadline. Atlanta has made it clear to the Knicks that in order to get Harrington they would have to part with Channing Frye, which is something Thomas will not do. Hawks GM Billy Knight has been a thorn in the Knicks' side for the past two years.</div>
I want Al but it'd have to be for Q...... we'd have a SF clog otherwise. Atlanta's GM likes to screw over the Knicks so this move is almost as unlikely as getting KG.
Hell no Isiah. Frye is a future star in the NBA. He's putting up big numbers as a rookie. I want to see Frye in a knick uni for a long time. I think the knicks still have to give Q some more time to develop. Let him become accustomed to the knicks gameplan. Be more patient Lb and IT. However, if they do manage to trade Q for Al along with maybe Lee i'd say do it. 17/9 and he can play around 40 minutes. he would be a great asset.
Who is Atlanta kidding with that offer? They'll be lucky to get late 1st round pick at this point for Al Harrington. Isiah should counter with Jerome James.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BobbyEscobar:</div><div class="quote_post">Nah. They cant get Lee either. Come to thing of it Lee is something-like-a Al Harrington.</div> Lee is nothing more than a blue collar player off the bench. He hasnt showed any signs of a really good scorer. He is a very good rebounder though. Al can score alot and give u 9 rebounds a night along with alot of minutes. Al would fit great in NY.
I think Lee could be better than Sweetney as well, but from what I've heard he's playing SF more than PF if Im not mistaken. Frye is a good player, and I think he's only going to get better. I dont think he fits well with the current knicks roster which is poorly assembled, the only way I can see this Harrington deal go through is if a big contract(JJ) is unloaded to the Hawks as well.

You are on the money though about his rebounding Gotskillz... he's aggressive under the basket and doesn't let himself get pushed around.
Sweetney at this point has been pretty good for Chicago, i think he's top 3 in the nBA in rebounds per 48 minutes along with Chandler who got owned in MSG

Thomas is useless anyways. He's the kind of player that Skiles hates. He doesn't work, he's lazy, no defense, and has no basketball IQ. Personally, I can understand why he was requested to just go home.
This trade is terrible for the Knicks. Why in the world will we be giving up a rookie big man who is just as productive as Harrington. Al Harrington is averaging 17.1 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game, but he shoots 42.6% from the field. That's not a good statistic for someone playing power forward. His efficiency is 17.00 and Frye's efficiency is 15.08. Note that Frye is playing 12 less minutes a game than Al Harrington. Also, at 6'11, Frye is much more valuable and is younger, too. The only way I'll take Harrington is if we give up Quentin Richardson, but considering they have a plethora of swingmen down in Atlanta, they won't want him. So, let's just leave Harrington alone.
