<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Lions | Harrington starts school MondaySun, 5 Mar 2006 18:57:24 -0800Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions QB Joey Harrington starts quarterback school with Lions' offensive coordinator Mike Martz Monday, March 6. Martz will ask him to forget much of what he knows about football. "We're going to strip it down, and he's going to start all over, from taking the stance under the center, the whole thing," Martz said. "We're just going to start all over again." Martz called Harrington Feb. 21, and they had what Harrington described as an "incredibly positive" conversation. At the NFL Combine Feb. 25, Martz said: "He's much better skill-wise than I remembered him. It's pretty significant." Martz said he saw no value in harping on any bad habits Harrington had in the past and that Harrington's struggles weren't his entire fault. He wants Harrington to move forward with a clean slate and a clear head. There seems to be no consensus around the NFL on whether Harrington can become a good quarterback. Harrington should throw downfield more often under Martz and some think that will play to his strengths.</div>Hopefully Martz does what he did to Kurt Warner. I don't really think Joey Harrington will be any better, but only time will tell.
It's just a waste of time, Martz is not going to start all over with him and teach him in 1 off-season what he couldnt learn in the previous 45 years of his career. The only good part of my day today was hearing that the Lions are persuing Kitna and Brees heavily.
$20 says Mike turns Harrington into the QB he should've been. Or at least, close to it.(Sorry for the bump)
