<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>By SEKOU SMITHThe Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionPublished on: 08/22/06 The Hawks' sign-and-trade deal that would send forward Al Harrington to the Indiana Pacers is back on again, Hawks general manager Billy Knight said Monday."We're working on a deal, but until you have a deal signed, there's nothing to talk about publicly," Knight said. "I'm not saying we have a deal. Everybody likes to jump the gun on these situations. But until we have a deal signed, we don't have a deal."According to a person familiar with the negotiation, however, all sides are hopeful that the details can be worked out over the next 48 hours, thus completing a weeks-long process that began with rumors of Harrington's former team ? he played his first six NBA seasons in Indiana ? wanting him back.A proposed deal fizzled late last week when the teams could not agree to terms, prompting Harrington to pronounce the deal "dead." But his agent, Arn Tellem, and representatives from the Hawks and the Pacers have continued their discussions.A Tellem spokesman told the Indianapolis Star on Monday night that "it's very close to getting done with Indiana."The deal will have the Hawks sign Harrington to a four-year contract worth an estimated $36 million and then send him and third-year center John Edwards to the Pacers for a first-round draft pick. The Hawks originally wanted $3 million in cash included in the deal but backed off that demand as the negotiations continued. By getting a draft pick from the Pacers, the Hawks ensure that they won't lose Harrington, an unrestricted free agent who served as a team captain in each of his two seasons, without compensation.</div>http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/h...harrington.html
