I think Terry should be the starting 2 guard. It is mainly due to the matchups against the spurs and some other teams. For one thing point guard defense is more important and Howard or Griffin can guard the best 2/3 on the other team. This would leave Terry on the last option to hide his defense and have Terry save his energy for offense so he can drain those 3 pointers at a high percentage like tonight. Against San Antonio you could stick Terry on Bowen. Though Bowen might try to post up Terry this would take San Antonio out of their rhythm and Bowen hasn't been known to post up. Also putting Harris on Parker seems like a much favorable matchup than Terry on Parker. Against Phoenix put Terry on Bell or Barbosa. If they post up that is taking away from what they do best also. Harris I think would do a better job on defense against Nash as well. So I am definitely in favor in starting Harris and having Terry at the 2.Any thoughts on this move?
Terry is more of a 2, imo he was never fit to bring the ball up the court. Hes more of someone to pass to then do something with the ball then give the ball to someone elce, he isnt a very good passer. Harris should addapt to a better PG. He already has good speed and court vision, now its just time for more improvements. As long as this doesnt effect Howard not starting, im fine with it.PG-Harris/ArmstrongSG-Terry/DanielsSF-Howard/Stackhouse/Griffin/MarshallPF-Nowitzki/Van Whore/PowellC-Diop/Dampier/Benga/Pavel
I would like to see Daniels get 5-10 minutes as the backup point guard instead of Armstrong since I think he has clearly played better. This would also keep Terry at the 2 for the whole game. Daniels can guard the stronger point guards like Billups, Baron Davis, Marbury, and Andre Miller also.
^Just because Terry moves to the 2, still doesnt mean he cant sub in for PG spot. So its not like DA is always the 6th man for the PG rotation. Quis is playable for 1, 2, & 3. But I find him most comfrotable at the 2. Im not sure about PG, Mavs did that his rookie season and he didnt reach his full potential on what he could have done, besides that playoff year. But on the defencive end Quis playing the 1 is a advantage, but not with the ball in his hands. But 5-10 minutes at pg wouldnt be that bad, I think.
Well I don't want to overplay Harris and Terry so at some time I think Daniels could play some backup point guard. Terry obviously seems much more comfortable without the ball so I think we should do that when Daniels is in the game as well. Armstrong has been very turnover prone lately.
Amrstrong is someone who only plays 8 mpg. He'll get 1 turnover in his average amount of playing time, exceptions to that was the recent Bobcats game he had 4. If you look back in his prime sadly he averaged 3-4 to's when he was a Magic. 1 turnover can slide with Armstrong, it wont hurt this team, he's brought in for defence not for a scoring and passing option

DA in certain situations. Backup swings should be Stack/Griff and Daniels in gaps. Everything else I agree with.

Well that stat is meaningless. I wonder how Stackhouse shooting 4-16 helps Dallas out along with his turnovers. I guess Daniels 11-16 doesn't help the team when Stackhouse neutralizes it.

And I'm pretty sure Daniels and Stack don't shoot like that every game. So picking out one performance of each is meaningless.

That might've been the worse performance from Stackhouse but trust me. He has had a lot of bad performances lately.
I'm not into the Devin Harris starting fan club, not just yet. He shows signs of quality PG play, but doesn't have it down yetAnd not to disagree with anyone, but what's wrong with the lineup that won what 28 out of 32 or so games before all the injuries?I think Avery knows what he's doing, and while I'd like to see the young guys play, like they are now with all the injuries, I'm more intent on winning a title, and right now this lineup is the best one we have... Terry, Harris, DAGriffeth, DanielsHoward, StackDirk, KVHDiop, DampI only put these ten cause they are the main guys, and will be the playoff rotation IMO.
Griffin is a solid player to have but I think Dallas's offense gets stagnant when San Antonio was able to put Bowen on Dirk and Duncan could relax on Griffin since Griffin couldn't take Duncan of the dribble. Daniels is pretty tricky and I feel could sneak around Duncan for layups but either way Duncan would be able to stay in the paint. The only team I've seen take Duncan out of the paint is Phoenix and Phoenix paid for it on the other end of course with Amare or Diaw having to guard him.
Well I'm sure the there will be lineup tweeks here and there depending on the matchups...But what I'm saying is that on a general bases, the lineup we have now is a pretty damn good one, and with Griffth, Howard, and Diop we have defensive stoppers, and with Dirk and Terry we have our scorers.I'm not worried about the offense getting stagnant, cause you can always pull Stack, KVH, and Daniels off the bench.
I'm not worried about the offense until we play San Antonio. They seem to force non scorers to score and having Griffin drive or take a rushed shot is part of San Antonio's plan. Having Daniels out there would force Duncan to watch his man more since Daniels is clever on penetrating. Daniels also plays much better as a starter for some reason. It also seems that Griffin's injury is worse than first expected. I like Diop starting for defense and energy purposes but just think Daniels is a slightly better option than Griffin.
Yeah I agree that Harris should probably even start against San Antonio. He is the only guy I think that can keep up with Parker. Terry can guard Bowen and Howard guards Ginobili. Either that or start Daniels and have Harris be the first one in the game for Terry or Daniels and have Harris be a 6th man. Daniels could start off guarding Manu than when Harris comes in, Howard can guard Manu.
