It?s a year ago today that Harry Redknapp returned to Pompey. We all know the history. He made some shrewd signings, motivated a demoralised squad; and steered us to an improbable survival by playing attractive and attacking football. Now Pompey look set for their finest season in over half a century. There are many things to dislike about Harry?. - His huge ego; that led to him throwing his toys out the pram in the first place. - His inability to encourage and develop young players. - His grubby and disrespectful washing of all dirty linen in public. - The crude and unprofessional way he uses the press to tap up players. That said, the man?s a legend. He responds to our passionate support & he and Pompey fit together like a hand and a glove! He?s done a superb job and clearly knows how to motivate and cajole players into performing at their best. People enjoy playing for him; and as I said at the time ? he was the outstanding English candidate for the England job. Have fun in the January sales, Harry! Thank you for everything in the past year, lets hope there's many more to come. PUP PPU
