    I agree with the whole "rape in prison" thing... that's terrible.

    But if the allegations are true, that a 28 year-old man choked and punched a 21 year-old woman, he should spend a bit of time in the pokey. No pun intended.

    If someone beat his white sister for dating a black guy, could it be properly construed as further evidence of how racism is bad?

    I don't think that this case indicates all of Islam is bad, but presumably that guy learned to keep his sister away from Hindus somewhere.

    But acts of this kind are so numerous with Muslims as well as other acts of violence against women that it does prove out that Islam's views of women as nothing more than chattel with no basic human rights is absolutely wrong. I mean, aside from not letting women vote, it's a pretty screwed up religion.

    Saying that Islam views women as personal property with no human rights just tells me you don't know much about Islam outside of what you hear shouted by American pundits.

    "Islam" doesn't prevent women from voting, governments do. However, the only Muslim country that doesn't have women's suffrage is Saudi Arabia.
