Two United Football league teams - the Hartford Colonials and Sacramento Mountain Lions - are kicking off Mini Camps in their respective cities this week.

Mountain Lions quarterback Daunte Culpepper will take to the field at Grant High School in Sacramento only 24 hours after he was presented to the Northern California media and helped unveil the team's new logo.

The Mountain Lions will practice under Head Coach Dennis Green from Thursday June 10 for three days. Saturday, June 12 will include a Fan Fest with the last hour from 10am to 11am open to the public to be followed by an autograph and photo session between fans and players. The first 100 fans to arrive will receive a t-shirt and free food will be provided by Chick-fil-A.

"I am ready to get back on the field and show what I can do," said Culpepper. "I am here in Sacramento because I want to play in the United Football League for the Mountain Lions and for Coach Green. This week is the first step towards us becoming a successful team."

The Hartford Colonials will hold their first Mini Camp this weekend from June 11-13, at Sage Park in Berlin, CT.

Team workouts are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be two practices on Friday and Saturday, with a morning session from 9am to 11am and an afternoon session from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on both days. Mini Camp will conclude with a morning session on Sunday from 9am to 11am. All sessions are open to the public. Parking and admission are free.

The three-day Mini Camps provide fans with an opportunity to watch both the Mountain Lions and Colonials practice with a full roster for the first time.

"I think it will be a good situation for fans to come down," Colonials Head Coach and General Manager Chris Palmer said. "It will be nice for the fans to get to know the Colonials. We're excited about it. The players are excited about it."

Next week the Las Vegas Locos will hit the field at Sam Boyd Stadium for the first time since winning the inaugural UFL Championship in 2009. The Locos Mini Camp will commence on Friday, June 18 from 2.15pm to 4.30pm and continue through Saturday (8am to 10.15am and 2.15pm to 4.30pm) and Sunday (8am to 1.15am).

A Locos Fan Fest is scheduled to coincide with the Saturday practice when Head Coach Jim Fassel and his players will meet fans and sign autographs. Full details to follow.

The Omaha Nighthawks are finalizing details of a Mini Camp to be held in July, while the Florida Tuskers will not hold a Mini Camp.

The UFL roster limit for Mini Camp is 70 players and each of the five teams' rosters will be posted on UFL-Football.com to coincide with their respective camps.
