Data accessed on 10-29-17... Crabbe (6 games played, 1 started): 37.5 3FG% on 5.3 3PA (38.8 FG%) Pat (6 games played, 0 started): 50.0 3FG% on 4.3 3PA (52.5 FG%) The thing I'm loving about Pat this season is that he's actually looking to shoot instead of pass. To be fair to Crabbe, he doesn't have Lillard et. al. drawing the attention of the defense. http://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/bkn/brooklyn-nets http://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/por https://www.blazersedge.com/2017/10...rail-blazers-stats-allen-crabbe-brooklyn-nets
I think it would make more sense to compare him to Crabbe last year, filling similar role on the team. And it still is a favorable comparison.
Encouraged and intrigued (#smallsamplesize) and if Pat keeps anything around 40% on that volume for the year not only will he have adequately replaced Crabbe, he will get P.A.I.D.
I love what I am seeing from Pat C, I ate crow already as I did not favor keeping him in late August and am very happy to eat crow again as he is playing well. "So far" he is easily replacing Crabbe, lets hope that continues all year!
He's playing confidently and within his skill set, which is nice. Crabbe is a better pure shooter but he also would hesitate way too often or just take some stupid out of rhythm shots.
Pat will hit a slump at some point.....they all do. But I am shocked at how easy he is making it look right now. Playing good defense as well. The alley oop was sweet.
He hasn't replaced Crabbe. He's found an entirely different niche which includes a lot fewer minutes. Do we miss Crabbe? Not really.
Hell no. It's an important skill & part of the game, but players like Crabbe & Pat are too limited to be worth more than $10M per year. Even then, I'd be hesitant with Crabbe & even more so with Pat
Patty’s numbers would likely be better if his teammates would pass him the ball. Three times in the second half last night I was screaming at my TV when they didn’t: Pat was WIDE open for a three, and some bonehead (forgot who) passed to Aminu instead, who clanged a tougher shot; Pat was open for a three at the end of the shot clock, right in front of Dame, but Dame took and missed a tougher shot; Pat was open in the corner, but Turner pulled up and missed a tougher 16 footer in traffic. To answer the question: Crabbe who?
Pat does more than Crabbe, he also handles the ball a bit and will create for others. He had better fg% than ac last year, also on a small sample size, so it is not a huge surprise - he is as good or better shooter than ac, I would say
