What are you guys' thoughts on him? I think college will benefit him so so much. He's got incredible size(7'3), and his wing span is just crazy. He can still put on 25+ pounds with his frame. He is raw offensively, but on defense, he is a real strong force blocking shots, and he's a solid rebounder. I think Thabeet could use one more year in college to develop his offensive game, then he'll be a stud once he reaches the NBA. He's compared to Dikembe Mutombo on a few sites, and thats a pretty good comparison. He has the potential to be better than Mutombo but college will be big for him. One thing is for sure though, sky's the limit for his potential..
I have not actually seen Hasheem play (I really want to see him). I really think this guy needs to stay in school another year, Calhoun can do wonders with his ability, going to the NBA could potentially stunt his development much like guys like Mohammad Sene in Seattle who play only a few minutes and rot for 3 years. Shotblocking and rebounding seem to be the only things he can do. He's had a 9 and 10 block games already this year (be that against bad teams). He needs to really work on offense and his body, not to mention become more comfortable playing basketball. I would hate to see this guy come out this year.

He has the size, he's very strong, he's an excellent shot blocker, and he's athletic, but he is not ready for the NBA right now. He needs more time in college, and Jim Calhoun is just the guy to be working for. But Thabeet is very raw, he has a lot of refining and learning to do. He needs to develope a much better offensive game, he needs to work on boxing out and getting position, he needs to work on coming off a pick n' roll, and he needs to improve his basketball IQ. He is very raw, but VERY promising. With 1-2 more years under Jim Calhoun, this kid could be an absolute stud.
Thabeet is nasty. he weighs 265, and still has room to be like 300. hes gonna be a menace in the future.
Hasheem is a raw talent right now. I think he should stay in college another year because he is not quite ready for the NBA.
He's from Tanzania. I lived in Kenya, the country that borders Tanzania. :winkglasses: I'm a huge fan fo this guy. What a beast!

I love this guy. He has great talent and Yeah it would be a horrible mistake to go pro. Jim Calhoun has developed so many players that are doing good in the pros today. For example, Emeka was really raw talent his first two years, then all of a sudden in his junior year he became a better defender than he was before and his offensive game got better.
