<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MIAMI ? He gets lost in all the Shaqmania and Wade County hype.

He gets overlooked with The Jones Boys doing the fancy stuff they do elsewhere in the starting lineup.

He gets missed as Alonzo Mourning plays despite a transplanted kidney while leading Miami's accomplished band of reserves.

But, oh, how the Heat treasures Udonis Haslem.

And everything anybody needs to know about what makes Haslem who he is? It was on display in his own little speech Saturday night before Miami completed its second-round playoff sweep of Washington in the MCI Center.

"I decided to do whatever I had to do to get myself to come back a different person," Haslem said.

The only thing riding on his determination was a career ? a real one in the NBA ? in professional basketball.

The abridged version of the Haslem saga is that he expected to be drafted out of the University of Florida after his senior season in 2002. Well, of course he did. He had been a terrific player on high-profile Gators teams for four years.

Except, um, he was chunky. And that changed everything.</div>
