I didn’t see Nurk or Winslow… but can you imagine us trading Nurk? It seems so implausible, considering his relationship with Dame, his contact, his injury, etc…
Yeah, was at the game, didn't see winslow either actually. I doubt we trade him, I hope we do, but I doubt it. We need good Nurk to unlock what are team can be, but tat doesn't exist full time, and I'm at this point done hoping for it to be. I don't want peaks and valleys, and that's what we get with him. I'm sure some team could talk themselves in to him, but I have no idea who that could be. At this point, I'm just looking at other bad deals around the league
The people that speculate about this stuff for a living say we are doing everything we can to move Nurk. They also say that we are very likely to move Hart because several teams want him.
I’m not saying we won’t, I just can’t imagine us doing it. Even the thought of Dame without Nurk seems impossible.
What seems impossible to me is to continue the rest of this season with Nurk trying to play defense in space and out on the perimeter like Chauncey's system calls for when he's one of the best drop coverage bigs in the game.
No. They could get a much better deal from someone like Toronto. Monty and Ayton may not get along, but they aren't going to gives him away. Same with Cam. Portland would be getting the 2 best players out of the 5 involved. I would love it.... but GM James wouldn't
Only way Nurk could be moved is to combine with Ant and/or Shaedon/picks. Nurk has a lot of talent but is overpaid, mercurial and GMs know this. Portland should find a center that is better fit for less money and bring Nurk off the bench depending on matchups etc. I suspect Dame is a factor in retaining Nurk and Ant. He may be shooting himself in the foot because he is too loyal. Just speculation.
Nurk being injured and out of action right before the trade deadline just reminds every front office of his injury history and perhaps the smallest team in the league shopping their biggest player, and apparently shopping hard, reminds every front office of the reasons why the Blazers want to dump him the size and duration of his new contract was a big mistake by Cronin. To be sure, the Blazers were in the position of wanting/needing his salary as a trade asset; but that salary needed to be comparable to the consistency of talent and impact....and it's not I don't think the Blazers will move him without getting back another empty-->bad contract of some size. And pretty much knowing the Vulcans would veto going into the tax really limits the market
he was there pre-game, but he wasnt on the bench against washington & chicago either, but he was in the arenas
