Sefalosha has also had a surprisingly good season. LOVE to get Millsap, but can't imagine we'd tempt them with anything outside of McCollum, and, while Millsap is currently better, he's also a good deal older and coming up on free agency.
Love to see him here, but I don't think that there's a trade offer the Blazers could make that would make sense for both teams.
Hawks would probably give Millsap up to whomever would also take Bazemore. Sefalosha costs 1/5 the amount and has been twice as good. That was one wacky contract.
Maybe Meyers, Aminu, and future picks could get it done? I don't think teams will offer that much for a guy who is expiring and in his 30s looking for a big contract.
Would rather not give up assets for expiring contracts when our cieling with them is 2nd round at the best. You only do that when your trying to get ride of a contract or have a shot at a title.
If that were truly the case I'd hop on it in a heartbeat: PHI Gets: Allen Crabbe Shabazz Napier Meyers Leonard ATL Gets: Ed Davis Gerald Henderson (Expiring) 2018 POR 1st 2018 CLE 1st POR Gets: Nerlens Noel Paul Millsap Kent Bazemore Swap out Crabbe's bad contract for Bazemores, and replace Davis and Leonard with Millsap and Noel. Lillard / McCollum McCollum / Bazemore Harkless / Turner Millsap / Aminu Noel / Plumlee
Makes no sense to go for Millsap as good as he is, it's basically a three month rental. If we were somehow competing to win championship then it would be worth a risk for the right price, Millsap or not this team is not winning this season.
exacty, Milsap already has said he is opting out plus at 32 he's not exactly the age we should be looking at as he will likely want a huge contract, no way
I dont' see any reason why we should work hard to offloads meyers contract, 10m in todays market is a 6 or 7 million contract a few years ago. Its not going to give us cap space and he isn't killing the books so might as well keep him around to use as filler for a trade that actually makes us better in the long run.
