<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">F Al Harrington says he wants to remain with Atlanta, but the Hawks are learning about Harrington what the Pacers already knew: He is a 'tweener, not athletic enough to be a small forward and not big enough to play power forward. Atlanta likes its young crop of wing players, including SF Josh Smith, SG Josh Childress and even raw G/F Donta Smith. The team also would like to keep SG Boris Diaw from having to play point guard. Harrington fits best as a small forward, but there is no room for him with his younger teammates, which is why the Hawks are expected to deal Harrington this summer. </div>

No surprise here honestly. Hearing rumors that they were going to make a strong run at Kwame, someone had to go...

The problem with Al is that hes a bench guy who thinks hes starting talent. Hed be nice off the bench for any team but I dont think that he could accept that. If he would nt mind coming off the bench he would be a great guy to pickup.

This is just a deal that I've made up in my own head, but what do you guys think of this?

Atlanta Gets: C Samuel Dalembert (sign/trade), PF David West and G Casey Jacobson

    Hornets Get: F Al Harrington (sign/trade), G Willie Green, Philly's 2005 2nd round pick

    76ers Get: F/C P.J Brown, G Royal Ivey, Hawks' 2005 2nd round pick

[IMG] it seems as though Philly will lost Dalembert to a team that can throw a lot of money at him, so why not sign and trade him? The Hornets can use more youngsters who can score, so why not grab Harrington before he hits the open market and his price goes up? Just a thought I had...

Harrington has one advantage: He's super strong when playing small forward. If they get an outside shooting power forward, he can come in handy as he can outmuscle the other team's small forward. The Warriors could probably use him, but since the W's are turning the corner, they probably wouldn't give up anybody except for Adonal Foyle or Derek Fisher. Getting Samuel Dalembert would probably be better.

I can't figure out for the life of me whether or not that post was intended to be serious.

I'd be willing to do that deal that Schaddy proposed we'd have ourselves a good backup shooter to spark us, a good player in the paint thats young and a monster shot blocker + with the draft coming up we could've made deals accordingly to needs after the deal. I never saw this thread before so thats why I'm posting in it even though its old.
