My pops is a huge Eagles fan and if I don't go he gets all sad, I've gone every year since 2003 so what the heck, I'm gonna go check it out. I'll post more about it when I get back and let you fellas know what I saw, I may be able to get a couple pics too.

They suck. The only player who impressed me was Hank Baskett. McNabb was throwing a lot of low ankle-level passes and also had a lot of overthrows. The O-Line was letting the D get way too much pressure. They really didn't seem to have anyone who can make plays for them through the air. I didn't get to see Reggie Brown or L.J. Smith I guess they were both injured.

Yeah I wasn't very impressed by them. Seemed like whenever McNabb was pressured he would dump a pass to Westbrook. Defenses are going to catch onto that really quickly if that's the only escape they have for pressure. When he's double covered, then who are they going to go to?I did see him tuck the ball in once and break into the secondary, however.

Ahh, I love kffl! Anyways, it's still only the 1st week of practice, they'll probably get it together. I'm not being an optimist, but I think that Philly could do some damage, as in knocking teams out in the end of the season.

I've never seen a team double cover a running back in the passing game, never even heard of it. If they were to do that AND bring pressure, you're going to see a LOT of big pass gains for us game after game. That's a bit of a ridiculous theory there. Not to mention, Westbrook is probably not only our best pass catcher but our biggest play maker, so I'd want the ball in his hands anyway.

Gametime:1.) No I wasn't watching the 3rd team what the hell are you talking about Brown and LJ weren't there cuz of injuries, but I saw Pinkston out there hobbling around on his bad leg and Gaffney (who did look a lot better than I thought I forgot to mention, he should be the #2 this year, not the slot). And yeah I DID see the starting O-Line. Jon Runyan was playing like shit and let so much pressure get to McNabb. The rest seemed alright with pass blocking. They didn't do a lot of handoffs so I didn't see how well they run-blocked.2.) From what I saw you guys do not have a high octane offense out there with all your starters. None of your recievers were getting open when McNabb was scanning the field for them and when the pressure gets to him he hesitates and dumps it to Westbrook. I'm sure we'll see a lot of that this year and defenses ARE going to catch on. Even if they don't double cover him they are going to be able to see that coming a mile away and have guys ready to stop him before he can break loose. Everyone knows he's your "biggest playmaker" and "best pass catcher", because he's pretty much the only one. Opposing D's are going to be ready for him.

Wow, and to further my point....<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>610's own G COBB was at camp today and reported to Ray Diddinger of NFL Films that the the Eagles recievers are just not getting open at all. He said that the offense looks like it is only capable of dumping off to Westbrook. G Cobb, after watching the team closely, predicted the team is in very deep trouble unless they pull off some type of blockbuster trade for some real WR help. Ray Diddiger agreed and predicted that the current roster will NOT make the playoffs this year.He also noted that Matt Schoble is a complete bust. He said he is dropping passes all over the place and even Marty Mortinwig mentioned that he might not make the team if he continues to drop passes. Ray Diddiger took the time to mention that Shchoble also posseses no blocking skills. On a side note from todays camp.. G Cobb also noted that Reggie Brown hurt his leg (hamstring?) and that he thinks Todd Pinkston is cooked. Now, Im really tired of the sugar coated camp reports. Why does it take this long to get a real report from camp? Most of us knew these recievers won't get it done.. why get everyones hopes up for undrafted players like Basketcase (who has been reported to only catch with his body and NOT with his hands.) We need real analysys.. not spadaro fed propeganda. I praise G Cobb for his honesty and bravery. He was very very critical of the Eagles recievers are even alluded that they could be the worst he ever seen of any team in his life.I really am dissapointed that the Eagles have millions of dollars in cap room sitting there while we are in desperate need of WRs. If we don't make the playoffs because of the lack of WR talent then somebody should be fired at years end for blantantly ignoring an obvious need.We deserve better.</div>

Man, you guys are in for a big surprise with Reggie Brown this season..Pinkston is a dud. No one is denying that. But Brown, Gaffney, Lewis, Avant and Baskett all have talent and I think can carry us better than Pinkston/Thrash/Mitchell did through those NFC Championship seasons. I heard those reports about Schobel as well, but supposedly Andy Thorn is doing all he can to pick up the slack and should be the second tight end this year behind LJ. About the O-Line, it's a bit ridiculous to say Runyan was "letting everyone through"..I'm not denying what you say you saw, but that's like me saying "Uh oh, look out for Jansen this season, he doesn't appear to have it in camps." Runyan is a veteran who doesnt miss games and plays solid in all of them. No one should be worried about him. McNabb is going to run more. Westbrook, Smith and Brown are going to be huge in the passing game, and Gaffney/Lewis/Avant will be roleplayers. Ryan Moats and Bruce Perry will carry the ground game. The defense is as good as it's been in 10 years. Akers is back and healthy, and was drilling kicks through from 50+ yards early in camp. The team is as hungry as any in the league, readfy to slience critics who don't think they can do it without TO. Do you realize how many quotes must be on their bulletin board? I'm not going to lie, our corps are shaky and the passing game isn't going to be anything spectacular this year. You can't work around that. But everyone's telling us we're not going to make it anywhere, not even going to be a WINNING football team. I think that's ridiculous, this team has all the potential in the world and the pieces to win now and later.
