    Jesus dude, that's terrible. I am going to be staying in Playa Del Carmen in about 3 weeks... Scary shit considering I love to swim in the Caribbean ocean. Condolences to your friend as well... Ugh.... :(

    I love Playa Del Carmen! So much nicer than Cancun. Stumbled into a couple of amazing private parties there, lol.

    Don't mean to derail this thread, sorry.

    Get a copy of Archaeology Magazine, in it will be ads for college tours. These are guided tours by university professors and you can even get college credit, these get you into the off limits sections of the ruins, inside buildings, and active digs. Frickin' amazing!
