Today's game was horrible. I only saw the 4th quarter but that last play was total bullsh*t. There was definite contact with Eddie and Bosh. Carter sucks, and I hate him and always will. Good job SVG u rock. If wade was here we'd of killed...

Dont blame it on the refs, both teams played really well, but the raptors ended up playing better in the end which led to the win, Rafer Alston played well.

The Heat simply had no answer for Vince Carter tonight. Blame it on the Heat for allowing the refs to be a factor in deciding the outcome of a game. Allowing a team to make 11 treys on you isn't going to help much either.

I just got back from the game, there was almost a riot tonight! The refs actually had to be escorted off the court by almost every cop in the building instead of just the usual two, it was so bad. They showed the replay at least a thousand times on the jumbotron and it was so obvious that it should have been a foul. If that same play happened at any other point in the game, the foul would have been called and Eddie would have gone to the line for 3.

Oh wait, I forgot, we're the Miami Heat, so that means calls always go against us. Had we been in that identical situation, except it was reversed with the Heat up by 3 and we were on defense with Vince attempting the same shot Eddie did, Vince would have gotten that call, like always because of his superstar status and who he is. The refs decided that 9 losses in a row were enough for the Raptors and didn't make the call. Anyone who says that it shouldn't have been a foul has either A) not seen the replay, or [IMG] is a biased Toroto Carters fan.

That 3 game suspension issued to that ref, Henderson I believe, is now having a direct impact on the NBA and the way last second calls are handled, and that impact is not positive at all. Refs are now afraid to make last second game deciding calls in fear that they may end up like Henderson. I am confident that if this happened before the whole Henderson incident, a call would have been made and Eddie would have gone to the line.

This is the FOURTH time this season that a last second call, or lack thereof has decided a game resulting in our loss. Sure, every team is in a situation like this every once in a while, it's happened to the best of the best, but never once this season has something like this happened as often as it has to the Miami Heat. Every single controversial call or no-call made this entire season has gone against us, it's just not right.

Not only was the no-call on the final play a factor in our demise, but with about 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter Eddie Jones got on a fast break with a clear path to the lane but he got tripped up and was calling for a timeout before he fell out of bounds, but since we're the Miami Heat and not the Lakers, Kings, Wolves, Nets, or Pacers, the refs "didn't see him calling for it" even though a replay confirmed that he called for it before going out of bounds. There was contact when he got tripped up and it could have been called as a clear path foul, but the Refs just ruled that it was a turnover out of bounds and gave the ball back to the Raptors, instead of seeing the timeout and instead of calling a foul at the very least. Aside from this, there were also a LOT of bad calls down the stretch for us.

Also, this game tonight was the deciding factor in whether we would still be in the 8th and final playoff spot or if we would drop down to 9th. Not only did the refs decide this game, they decided to knock us out of the playoffs (for the time being of course).

BS dirty refs aside, Vince wasn't even the biggest factor in the Raptors victory tonight, it was Donyell Marshall's spectacular shooting from beyond the arc. Every shot he took was contested and his vision completely blocked, yet he still managed to make them drop. Yes, Vince had an impressive stat line tonight, but Donyell was the one who kept the Raptors in the game down the stretch and he is the one who is mostly responsible for coming back from the 15 point deficit.

Vince is an amazing player, his post up fadeaway move that he does is simply unstoppable. One of the main reasons the Heat played poor defense against Vince was because at different points in the game we had 4 different people guarding him. I'm not talking about just getting a simple mismatch because of a pick and roll play or something along those lines which only lasts for one play, but we actually had Skip guarding Vince for a period of about 5 or 6 minutes and Vince just abused him, also Lamar and Caron each guarded Vince again for a stretch of about 5 or 6 minutes in the game and Vince took advantage of both of them. The only guy who was able to contact vince was Eddie, he was able to anticipate every move that Vince was going to make and really played him hard, it was the best defense i've seen EJ play all season, but Stan's decision with all these mismatches was terrible. I guess he wasn't even expecting Vince to play so he had to change his defensive schemes at the last second.

And finally, what this all boils down to is the NBA's negligence in refusing to institute a replay/challenge system similar to the NFL. It would take no longer than 30-45 seconds for a ref to review the call, and if the team that challenged the call turned out to be wrong they could be penalized by either losing a timeout or a technical foul.

well, dont forget, about 4 of donyells 6 3-pointers came from assits from vince's penetration. althought the defenders closed out on donyell..hes still got some good looks at the basket

really? i saw vince torch eddie in the 2nd quarter. eddie was guarding him for most that quarter, and vince scored 15 points. sorry man, but i saw eddie get lit up. plus where was eddie in the 2nd half? i thought tonight was a terrible game from eddie...he did all his scoring in the first half, and when his team needed him most, he was nowhere to be found.

bad calls both ways man...that last call could have gone either way, from the replays i saw, looked to me like eddie leaned into bosh a little bit. bosh was in the air, but his arms were straight up

I totally agree wit u Accord, wit referees not giving out last second calls. I've seen it happen allot of times this year wit the raptors (e.g. when VC didn?t get that call on the rapz vs. lakers game). Referees simply want to take over the games, and that?s y sooo many fans are frustrated.. I noticed that the Refs didn?t give the call to VC when it was rapz home game, and they didn?t give the call to Eddie when it was heats home game... im not saying there?s a pattern there, im just saying that it's something I noticed

I would be sad, but I'm a Toronto fan first and the Heat come later.

Their was definately contact on the shot, but Eddie also made it bad by trying to initiate contact rather than trying to make it look like he was shooting a jumper. He initiated, then he flinged his hand up, if he had just shot normally, Bosh woulda probably gone into him and would have been called.

SVG went crazy, man, I still wonder why Miami doesn't have that many fans at the games.

It was like a better Atlanta in the Miami crowd.

The Raps have experineced this too, the most recent I think was against the Lakers when Carter drove and was fouled by Fox but stripped by Payton, but whatchu gonna do. It also happened to the Pitons twice against Minnesota, the first was when Billups got fouled, and I don't remember what the second was.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Not only was the no-call on the final play a factor in our demise, but with about 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter Eddie Jones got on a fast break with a clear path to the lane but he got tripped up and was calling for a timeout before he fell out of bounds, but since we're the Miami Heat and not the Lakers, Kings, Wolves, Nets, or Pacers, the refs "didn't see him calling for it" even though a replay confirmed that he called for it before going out of bounds. I thought they called a travel on that one, not an out of bounds.

The reason it was Vince is because he was the one driving then drawing the defenders and dishing it off to Marshall, and many times Haslem was playing Marshall, I didn't understand his logic.

naw...swirsk got that one wrong, he was called out of bounds, and he totally was. you cant lie down, and have your shoulders over the baseline, and expect to call a time out. that was a good call by the refs imo

Actually the refs rarely ever give calls on last second plays, because its always a bailout for the other team. If u'r lookin at fairness then, we should have won that lakers game where Carter was clearly mugged by Payton and they didnt call anything when that was the final possession.. Carter has not gotten alot of calls in the games he's played, but neither has many of other teams leaders in final possessions. That was even more evident on that one but we didnt get a call either, so its only fair it happens to all teams with last possessions who are down. Plus he purposely tried to initiate contact apparently, when u run into someone to do that thats like when Kobe tried to do that to San Antonio in the finals but never got it when he tried to lean in and hit the trey. The refs simply dont give bail-outs in last possessions, so u have to get it in even if its a bump, its almost like a reward system for the team that is leading.

    Thank you accord...
It was called an out of bounds, yet somehow EJ put his hands in a T BEFORE he even went out of bounds!!! What do ya know? I have the game taped too, so I've seen it about 20 times.
I don't think you guys know as much as you think you do. You say EJ "initiated contact" well if the defender falls for the pump fake at the 3pointline (which is brutal) you're allowed to lean into the body to get teh foul... Eric Snow does it all the time, as well as other players. But including that, Bosh's arms we're all over EJ....

About Vince being a good player. He gets injured 4 times a season, he'sa big cry baby. I mean he got charlie horsed and was out like 4 games... that's pathetic. He has a pretty good shot, but not that good since he shoots under50% EVERY game. And his finish isterriblenowadays, since he can barely dunk the ball with all his injuries.

    Thank you forlistening.

Don't be hating Vince for having a strong comeback game from his injury, you are going totally off-topic. BTW that was a foul at the end, but I guess the refs had to make a split-second decision, and their first impression must've been that Eddie leaned in.

The Raptors just lost to the Wizards, even though i'm glad they lost i'm still pissed. Of the last 10 games the Raptors played, the ONLY team they were able to beat was the Heat! Ugh, not good at all.

That's the good news, the bad news is that the Cavs are about to beat the Hawks which will put them in 8th place tied with the Celtics.

Looks like we're going to be chasing everyone now, that loss last night was a KILLER for us. Of all the eastern conference teams fighting for the last couple spots, the Heat have the toughest schedule.

Stan Van Gundy said that the refs always make the controversial calls against the Heat and that's no coincidence. I'm absolutely convinced that they have a vendetta gainst Riley and the team. There's no other team that have had that many bad calls against them this season.

Eddie just faked Bosh out of his shoes, he did not initiate contact, cmon', he was trying to make the three. Bosh was all over him like a bad suit. As bad as the last call was, I was more appalled at the timeout/out of bounds one. EVERYBODY saw the timeout call but the refs.

Reason why there were less fans is that Wade wasn't playing and VC was gane time decision. Sorry to say but Miami fans are fairweather, just a few are hardcore like Accord.

Tomorrow the Bucks. I'll be on my buddy's company skybox. At least if the refs screw us I'll be watching in style!

Hatin' on Vince... why shouldn't I. He's my least favourite player and I'll leave it at that.
And if you think I'm going off topic, what's all the VC discussion up top??? Please read before you proceed.

Hopefully the Heat can pull a victory out of their arses and beat the new and very improved Bucks who are on a winstreak.... this is gonna be a tough one.

Dude, what are you talking about Vince can hardly dunk anymore? Did you see the game against the cavs at the start of the year he dunked awesomely at the end. He strained his quad man not charlie horsed... I could come in here and say wade is a baby for not playing he just had a little ankle injury, but I dont. Dont Be hatin'. BTW IMO that was a foul at the end but the timeout one was the right call IMO.

I like both of them so I'm not going to hate, but it is true that Wade has missed 10 more games and counting than Carter has, so I dunno if you can make fun of/criticize him when Wade himself has been out a lot due to injury.
