Heat destroy Hornets 96-83! As of now in the 3rd quarter 68-62 in the favour of the Heat. Gr, we're blowin a lead we had early... Magloire was ejected and i was jumping for joy, but soon Odom was ejected... this is getting to be an intense game. Wade is playing amazing so far, playing the 2! I think the Heat can run away with this one. Yes, a huge game for the Heat, my main man Wade played a stellar game jacking up 23 points 7 boards 2 asts and 6 STEALS!!! While shooting 8-16 from the field. Look to Accord for the full game report...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15 in Hornets Thread:</div><div class="quote_post">This will be a tough matchup and Baron will produce like always, but if the others step it up it should be a win. Watch out for Wade, and Caron Butler has been on fire lately. I say the Hornets take this one by 5, big game from Magloire and Baron is needed again.</div> Well their was no Magloire to produce since he got ejected, but so did Odom. The Heat never trailed in the game and even though the Hornets got close Wade and Butler sealed the deal. Like I said, Baron will be big, and Wade and Butler are the guys to look out for, and thats exactly what happened. Baron finished with 29 points (9-22 FG, 5-11 3PT), 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Baron's assist numbers have dropped drastically lately because no one but him is making shots anymore. Armstrong scored 14 points (5-9) and was 4-7 from downtown. No other Hornet was impressive in this game. Dwyane Wade like I warned scored 23 points (8-16 FG, 8-8 FT), had 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Him Alston and Butler were the catalysts that sealed this game for the Heat bringing them deeper into playoff contention. Caron Butler scored 20 points (7-16) for the Heat and made his 4th 3-pointer of the season, 2 games in a row with a 3-point shot made now. He also pulled down 7 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Rafer Alston was again a spark for the Heat, wheter starting or coming off the bench he's always bringing it. Alston scored 17 points (7-13), and he was 3-7 from long range, he set a Heat record for 34 games straight with a three pointed made. Alston also had 6 rebounds and 4 assists and has been a big part of the Heat's playoff push. Rasual Butler scored 7 points on 3-5 shooting and was 1-2 from long range.
Oh baby what a game this was. The Hornets are a bunch of thugs and Magloire is a baby, not to mention this was one of the most poorly officiated games this entire season, but hey, we came out of it with the W so i'm not complaining . This was an extremely rough game, any other officiating crew would have handed out several flagrant fouls and a lot more T's. I'm not even sure if I witnessed a basketball game tonight, seemed more like a ruthless rugby match. The fans in the arena were really into this game, when the toddler, errr I mean Magloire, threw the ball 20 rows into the stands, it was like the crowd took it personally and from then on out the atmosphere was like that of a playoff game. This was the second game in a row that we held the Hornets to under 40% (they shot 38% from the field), however somehow we managed to lose the last game against them. The last time we crossed paths and lost, the Hornets did not out-play us, they simply out-bullied us, Stan made sure that wouldn't be the case this time around. Keeping the Hornets off the free thow line has ALWAYS been a key for us to beat them, last game we allowed them to get to the line more than twice as much as us and that was the sole factor in them beating us, despite us playing better. Tonight they took 20 shots from the free throw line as opposed to our 26, however neither team really did anything special to keep the opposition off the line, it was just the fact that this was a very poorly officiated game and without a doubt one of the most inconsistently officiated games of the season. Skip set the franchise record tonight for at least one three-pointer in 34 consecutive games, the franchise record before Skip broke it was 33 by Tim Hardaway. Skip has solidified his presence in the NBA and will be here for a long time to come, he isn't the type of player that will just go wherever the money is, he's a very emotional player and has settled in very well in Miami, expect him to re-sign with the Heat, but this time it'll be a large long term contract . Skip went 3-7 from downtown coming up with 17 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, and a steal. Dwyane was huge tonight, and he really took a beating from the Hornets. Right after Lamar picked up a technical and we were really beginning to lose our momentum and the Hornets were quickly fighting their way back, Dwyane comes up with this monster tomahawk slam, right after that the Hornets were coming back up the court on offense and Magloire picked up an offensive foul, he wasn't happy about it and threw the ball into the crowd and was ejected, as he was about to walk off the floor he started to charge towards the officials and had to be restrained by security and forcibly taken back into the locker room, what a baby. Lamar got ejected from the game after picking up 2 technicals, but we were playing so well that we didn't even need him. It was very interesting when he got ejected though, because he was at the free throw line taking 2 shots, he made the first one and then started talking to the refs and that is when he picked up his second T and got ejected, so he still had 1 free throw left to shoot and the Hornets could pick ANY player on the Heat to shoot the final free throw. They actually picked Samaki Walker who is actually pretty decent from the charity stripe, he made it. It was just an interesting situation and doesn't happen often at all. Lamar played 29 minutes before getting ejected and he ALMOST had a double double 13 boards, 9 points and 4 assists. Caron is on fire, he's back to his old self on both ends of the floor. He was played extremely tight D tonight and his jumper was ON, despite having one of the ugliest jump shots in the league, he was able to drop 'em tonight. His jump shot has always been a huge liability, but when you're hot, you're HOT! He hit a couple jumpers in a row and then down the stretch he hit a triple from downtown, I believe it was his 4th of the season. I love his crab walk that he does after a big dunk or a big shot, it gives Shaq's gorilla walk a run for it's money . There isn't much to say about Brian Grant's performance tonight, just another typical night for him coming up with 8 points and 6 boards, however some how, some way, he actually played 39 minutes, more than anyone else on the Heat or even the game for that matter, except for Baron. Eddie had only 8 points going 2-9 from the field, this was something like only his 8th or 9th game of the season where he didn't score in double figures. Just an off night for him, not much more to say about that. Some more news around the league that directly affects the Heat is that the Knicks beat the Wizards in an OT thriller and the Cavs beat the Bulls, unfortunately. Basically everything else going on in the East has remained constant, the Cavs are still in 6th and half a game ahead of the Heat and Knicks which are tied for 7th, but realistically we're actually in 8th instead of 7th, despite the Knicks and Heat having the same records because they would get the tie-breaker.
