<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Heat tried unsuccessfully to trade its way into the NBA Draft lottery last week in an attempt to fill one of its biggest needs. The quest to acquire a potential starting point guard now shifts to the free agency period, which started at 12:01 a.m. today, when teams were cleared to open player negotiations. Two league sources said Saturday that the Heat would be involved with at least two of the biggest names on the free agent market: Seattle forward Rashard Lewis and Milwaukee guard Mo Williams. Heat president and coach Pat Riley said the team's priority is to find a point guard capable of starting and a forward who could be a third scoring option alongside guard Dwyane Wade and center Shaquille O'Neal.</div> Miami Herald I would really like to see either Lewis or Williams in a Heat uni this year. Lewis would be our 3 and give us a big time threat form the perimeter but Williams would be an equal threat but at the point. As long as we don't get rid of Haslem or Dorrell, I don't care what we have to do.
rashard would be the best thing possible if you ask me (other than landing billups, but i dont see that happening). i realize that we desperately need a pg, but rashard is just such a scoring threat that i would rather see us pick him up over mo williams. obviously though, if we can land both than that we be great. OT: does anybody know whether or not riley will have d. cook on the active roster? or is he going d-league?

I think Williams is our best bet, he gives us a shooting PG and opens up a spot for Dorrell at the 3.
