Mike Bibby gave the rest of Odom's teammates a punch in the stomach. The Miami Heat rallied without the injured Odom but were done in by Bibby's 3-pointer with 18 seconds remaining that lifted the Sacramento Kings to a 90-86 victory, their fifth straight home win. Odom, averaging 16.9 points and a team-leading 9.3 rebounds per game, had a cut opened on his chin by the elbow of Kings center Brad Miller with 9:14 to play. He went to the locker room and took six stitches. "I don't know if it was a head or a hand or an elbow," Odom said. "I just knew I was the one bleeding. I tried to run away from everybody. It got a little nasty." Instead of collapsing without their best player, the Heat rallied, erasing a 76-68 deficit and pulling into an 81-81 tie with 3:55 left on a jumper by Caron Butler, who scored 12 points. Bibby, who scored 20 points, made a free throw on the next possession to give the Kings the lead for good. But his biggest basket came after Odom returned and scored on a driving layup with 43 seconds to go, making it 86-84. Vlade Divac worked on the smaller Brian Grant, moving into the lane. When Heat guard Rafer Alston came down to double-team him, Divac flipped a pass to Bibby, who drilled a 3-pointer for an 89-84 lead. "I thought Vlade was going to shoot it with how long he was dribbling it," said Bibby, who missed Monday's practice with a sprained thumb. "I was going to drive to the basket, but there was only three seconds left (on the shot clock), so I out it up. It didn't feel good but it went in." "We weren't doubling him all night, (but) that last play Brian kept saying, 'Come down, come down' because (Divac) was backing him down and wheeling and dealing," Alston said. "As soon as I came down, he kicked it to Bobby for the shot." Peja Stojakovic scored 24 points and Miller added 14 and nine rebounds for the Kings, who improved their league-leading home mark to 20-2. "Mike hit a huge three to put the game away, basically, but we were on the ropes," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. Odom had 21 points and 12 boards for the Heat, who fell to 0-3 on their season-high six-game road trip. "We kept playing," Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said. "We lose Lamar for eight minutes in the fourth quarter. We just kept playing, battling and fighting. And then Bibby hit a big shot at the end." The King never trailed, leading by as many as 18 points before settling for a 52-43 halftime advantage behind Stojakovic, who scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting. But Stojakovic missed all six shots in the third period, and the Heat closed to 72-66 entering the fourth quarter. "Peja was so hot in the first half and everyone made their shots in the first half," said Divac, who scored 12 points. "In the second half, they were able to score and get back in the game." Led by Odom, the Heat held a 46-30 advantage on the boards. They had 19 offensive rebounds while the Kings had just 23 defensive rebounds. "I just feel we were very fortunate to get this win," Adelman said. "Our guys really have to wake up. That's when you have to get better defensively, when you get a lead like that.
