<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If there was a recurring theme to the past Heat season, it was slow starts followed by fantastic finishes.

There was a slow start to the season, a 10-10 record caused largely by Shaquille O'Neal's ankle injury. That was followed by a 42-20 finish.

There were several games in which the Heat found itself trailing by double figures in the fourth quarter, only to complete a dramatic comeback win.

And there was the 0-2 hole the Heat fell into to open the NBA Finals against the Mavericks. That was followed by four consecutive wins and the first championship in franchise history.

So with most of the team coming back to defend the title, beginning Tuesday with the start of training camp, the new season could bring more of the same.

After a long, dramatic, climactic 2005-06 season, the Heat is well aware of the predictable lull that comes with the start of a season following a championship.

''I think it's inevitable for the simple fact that when you're coming off a championship, everyone has this perfect vision in their heads of what your team did and what your team was,'' Dwyane Wade said. ``But when you come back for the season, people have to understand it's an 82-game season. Just like we struggled last year, we're going to struggle some next year because teams are good and teams are going to win ball games and we're going to lose ball games.

'There are going to be times we don't look as good. And there are going to be times y'all say, `There go the Heat again. There go the champions.' ''</div>
